The top seed of the ATP1000 Masters tournament Rohan Bopanna & Mattew Ebden played some great tennis to enter Quarterfinal at Miami Open.

In the second round they got better of Polish/Monaco pair of Nys & Zielinski 7-5,7-6.

While the first match for the top seed went until the super tie breaker the Indo-Aussie pair ensured that this one is closed in two.

At the last year championships the pair was seeded sixth but were shown the door in the first round itself. However, such has been the turnaround for this pair that throughout the year they have had a change of fortunes.

Now they are the World Number 1 pair and expected to win the tournaments they play in.

In the Quarterfinal they now face Aussie-Dutch pair of Smith and Verbeek who came in as ALT and got better of Eighth seed in the round 2.

Interestingly the pair was undefeated in 2023, winning two ATP Challenger events that they took part in.

This will be the first meeting between these pairs

To ensure that they remain world number 1 the pair needs to go deep in the tournament. There are atleast three pair in the reckoning to grab the first spot should they win the title.

The quarterfinal match is scheduled in the early morning hours tomorrow tentatively at 2:30am
