H S Prannoy beat compatriot and Commonwealth gold medalist Parupalli Kashyap 21-16,  21-16 in the all Indian quarter final match. The match lasted for 43 minutes. After a lot of first round exits Parupalli finally managed to make it to Quaterfinals and this might just give him the much needed confidence going into future tournaments. The Big Game player Prannoy now faces third seed Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia in the semi final.  They share the Head to Head record at 1-1 with the last match won by Ginting at Yonex Japan Open 2018. A lot of eyes will be on this match as Ginting has been offlate struglling for form only in last two tournaments where after losing the first game to Srikanth tamely he came back strongly to beat him.
