Top Ranked Indian Shuttler P V Sindhu Wins Swiss Open 2022. This is a BWF Super 300 Event which she won defeating Busanan Ongbamrungphan from Thailand in straight games at Basel in Switzerland. Second Seed Sindhu was determined to win the title here and was relentless in her approach through the tournament.
She faced a strong challenge in Supaniada in the Semifinals where she was pushed to three games and few crunch moments at the business end of the match. However today was complete dominance by Sindhu who gave no chance to her opponent from Thailand. Before the match Sindhu was leading 15-1 in the Head to Head to record against Busanan. The only match Busanan has managed to win against Sindhu was three years ago in Yonex Sunrise Hong Kong Open 2019.
Sindhu won the first game 21-16 showing great court coverage and with some great smashes across the court. In the first game Busanan was able to provide some resistance to Sindhu’s gameplan but after 18 – 16 the Indian won the next three poitns to close the game.
Second game was in complete control of the Indian wherein she denied any opportunity for Busanan to come back in the match. She quickly raised to a lead of 21-2 and there was no coming back from there. Sindhu closed the match with a commanding 21-8.
This is PV Sindhu second Title of the year, she had earlier won the Syed Modi India International BWF 300 Tournament earlier this year. It has been a great start of the year for the India and she will look to build ahead from here in the future tournament.
