Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championship Kozhikode
Amlan Borgohain of Assam won 200m in 20.52 seconds with a new national record and qualified for Asian games. The earlier record of 20.63 was held by Mohammad Anas Yahiya set in 2018.
Avinash Sable, a steeplechase runner, won 5000m in a new meet record with a fine effort of 13:39.43. Avinash has already qualified for the world championship in 3000m steeplechase.
Eldhose Paul of Kerala won the triple jump with a leap of 16.99m to clinch the gold medal breaking 10 year old meet record. Silver medalist Praveen Chitravel of Tamilnadu and Karthik Unnikrishnan of Kerala also secured qualification mark for Commonwealth games and Asian Games. The much awaited 200 m sprint was won by Hima Das in 23.63 seconds.

Manika defeated Tran Thi Diem Kieu of Vietnam in 48 kg category.
Amit Panghal reached the semi-final in men’s 52 kg category.
Bhagyabati Kachuri made to the 75 kg semi final defeating Thai opponent Ponnipa Chutee 5-0.
