The Bengaluru Open is set to return for a landmark 10th edition from January 5 to 11, 2026, at the S.M. Krishna Tennis Stadium, reaffirming its place as one of India’s most significant international tennis tournaments.

A flagship event on the ATP Challenger Tour, the Bengaluru Open has steadily grown in stature over the past decade, emerging as a vital platform for elite competition and Indian player development.

Upgraded in 2025 from an ATP Challenger 100 to a Challenger 125 event, the tournament now boasts a total prize purse of over USD 225,000. The elevated status has had a direct impact on the quality of the field, attracting players with extensive ATP Tour experience and reinforcing Bengaluru Open’s position as a key stop on the global Challenger circuit. For Indian tennis fans, the upgrade also ensures exposure to high-intensity, top-tier matches at home.

Leading India’s challenge at this milestone edition will be Sumit Nagal, one of the country’s most accomplished singles players. A former champion of the tournament in 2017, Nagal returns to Bengaluru with a resume that includes Olympic representation and multiple ATP Challenger titles. His familiarity with the conditions and past success at the venue make him a central figure in the home contingent.

Joining him in the main draw is Aryan Shah, a promising young Indian talent who has steadily climbed the ranks through consistent performances on the ITF and Challenger circuits, marking an important opportunity for him at this historic edition.

The official singles main-draw acceptance list underlines the depth and competitiveness of the field. Heading the lineup is Spaniard Pedro Martinez, an ATP Tour title winner and former Top-100 player. He is joined by Great Britain’s Daniel Evans, a former Top-25 player and Davis Cup regular, whose experience at the highest level adds significant weight to the draw. South Africa’s Lloyd Harris, a former Top-35 player and US Open quarterfinalist, further strengthens the top end of the field.

The international contingent also features several players with strong junior and Challenger credentials. France’s Harold Mayot, a former junior World No.1 and Australian Open boys’ champion, Croatia’s Duje Ajdukovic, the ATP Challenger Finals champion, and Borna Gojo, a proven Davis Cup performer, are all set to compete. Germany’s Cedrik-Marcel Stebe, a former Top-100 player, and Czech Republic’s Jonas Forejtek, the 2019 US Open boys’ singles champion, add further depth and variety to the draw.

Beyond the headline names, the field remains highly competitive, with players such as Jay Clarke (Great Britain), Benjamin Hassan (Lebanon), Matej Dodig (Croatia), Timofey Skatov (Kazakhstan), Max Houkes (Netherlands), Beibit Zhukayev (Kazakhstan), Matteo Martineau and Antoine Ghibaudo (France), Michael Geerts (Belgium), Dan Martin (Canada) and Neil Oberleitner (Austria) all confirmed. The breadth of nationalities reflects the tournament’s growing global appeal and ensures a week of closely contested matches.

Organised by the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), the Bengaluru Open has consistently upheld high organisational standards, strengthening the city’s reputation as a preferred destination for international tennis. As the tournament celebrates its 10th edition, it continues to balance world-class competition with a clear developmental focus, offering Indian players valuable opportunities to test themselves against top international opposition on home soil.

The alternates list includes Vadym Ursu and Vladyslav Orlov (Ukraine), Karan Singh (India), Eric Vanshelboim (Ukraine), Takuya Kumasaka (Japan), Stefano Napolitano (Italy), Eero Vasa (Finland) and Maxime Janvier (France).

Further details regarding match schedules, ticketing and wild-card announcements are expected to be released in the coming weeks as anticipation builds for another marquee edition of the Bengaluru Open.
