IndianOil UTT Season 6: Sreeja Akula Leads Jaipur Patriots into Semi-Finals with 9–6 Win Over Pune Jaguars
Ahmedabad, June 11, 2025 — Star Indian paddler Sreeja Akula guided the Jaipur Patriots into their maiden IndianOil Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) semi-finals appearance with a spirited 9–6 win over PBG Pune Jaguars in the penultimate league-stage tie of Season 6.
The victory takes Jaipur to 41 points, securing second place in the standings behind Dempo Goa Challengers (44 points), while eliminating Pune Jaguars from playoff contention. With only one semi-final spot left up for grabs, attention now turns to the final league match between U Mumba TT and Dabang Delhi TTC, which will decide the last qualifier.
All 23 ties of Season 6 are being broadcast live on Star Sports Khel and Star Sports 2 Tamil, with digital streaming available on JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. Matches are staged at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad under the aegis of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), with promotion by Niraj Bajaj and Vita Dani.
Tie Summary: Jaipur Patriots vs PBG Pune Jaguars
The tie began with Jeet Chandra setting the tone for Jaipur by outlasting Anirban Ghosh in a tight opening men’s singles clash. Jeet’s consistency under pressure handed him a 2–1 win, edging both games by narrow margins before Ghosh responded in the third via a golden point.
Next up, Dutch Olympian Britt Eerland extended Jaipur’s momentum, racing to a two-game lead over Reeth Rishya before the Indian snatched a game back in dramatic fashion, once again on golden point.

With a 4–2 lead in hand, Jaipur entered the mixed doubles with a chance to take control — and did exactly that. The Jeet–Eerland pair rebounded after dropping the opening game to defeat Alvaro Robles and Reeth Rishya 2–1. That win guaranteed Jaipur’s semi-final berth, their first in UTT history.
Pune’s Robles hit back in the second men’s singles, showcasing his international experience in a 2–1 win over Yashansh Malik, but the Patriots were firmly in control.
And fittingly, it was Sreeja Akula, undefeated throughout the league stage, who sealed the tie. Facing South Korea’s Zion Lee, Sreeja clinched the win with a dominant first game, a minor hiccup in the second, and a composed finish in the decider to close the match 2–1 — and the tie 9–6 in Jaipur’s favour.
