Roundglass Hockey Academy underlined its status as the benchmark for junior hockey development in the country by successfully defending its title at the 3rd Hockey India Junior Men Academy Championship.
Playing the final in Surat on December 30, 2025, the academy produced a controlled and clinical performance to defeat SGPC Hockey Academy 4–0, completing a remarkable hat-trick of titles at the national academy level.
From the opening whistle, Roundglass Hockey Academy looked composed and assured, dictating the tempo of the contest and denying their opponents any sustained rhythm. The breakthrough came late in the second quarter when Sukhpreet Singh found the back of the net in the 27th minute, capitalising on sustained pressure inside the circle. That goal shifted the momentum firmly in Roundglass’ favour and reflected their ability to convert dominance into tangible rewards.
The academy carried that control into the second half, doubling their advantage in the 35th minute through Jarman Singh. The goal showcased the side’s structured approach and patience in possession, forcing defensive errors before striking decisively. With a two-goal cushion, Roundglass Hockey Academy managed the game intelligently, limiting SGPC Hockey Academy’s chances while continuing to probe for openings.
As the match wore on, the gulf in control became more pronounced. Sukhmanpreet Singh extended the lead in the 51st minute, effectively putting the result beyond doubt. Amandeep Singh added the finishing touch five minutes later, scoring in the 56th minute to complete a comprehensive 4–0 victory and cap off another dominant final performance.
Individual honours further reflected Roundglass Hockey Academy’s influence on the tournament. Amandeep Singh was named the Best Defender, recognising his consistency and authority at the back, while Sukhpreet Singh earned the Best Forward award after a series of impactful performances throughout the competition.
This latest triumph reinforces an extraordinary run of success for the academy in the under-19 category. Roundglass Hockey Academy first lifted the title in 2023, winning the inaugural edition in Zone A. They followed that up in 2024 when the championship expanded into Zone A and Zone B, retaining their crown with a convincing campaign. The 2025 victory now completes three consecutive titles at the national academy level, a feat that underlines both depth and continuity within the programme.

Last season’s final had already showcased their attacking prowess, as Roundglass overwhelmed Odisha Naval Tata Academy 8–3 in a high-scoring contest. This year’s final, by contrast, highlighted their growing maturity, blending attacking efficiency with defensive solidity to deliver a measured and authoritative performance on the biggest stage.
The 2025 campaign was defined by Roundglass Hockey Academy’s consistency from the outset. Drawn in Pool A, the side announced its intent with an emphatic 11–1 victory over Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy. That was followed by a closely fought 2–1 win against Army Boys Sports Company, a match that tested their resilience and game management, and confirmed their place in the knockout stages.
In the semi-finals, Roundglass produced arguably their most dominant display of the tournament, dismantling Ghumanhera Risers Hockey Academy 8–1. The result not only secured their passage to the final but also underlined the academy’s attacking depth and ability to rise in high-pressure encounters.
Beyond the immediate success, the title defence further cements Roundglass Hockey Academy’s reputation as one of India’s leading talent development programmes. Sustained results at the junior level point to a clearly defined pathway that allows young players to progress through structured coaching, competitive exposure and consistent performance benchmarks.
