The Pro Wrestling League (PWL) has taken a significant step towards its long-awaited return by unveiling its new official logo ahead of the fifth season, scheduled for January 2026.
Sanctioned by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), the rebranding marks the revival of India’s premier professional wrestling league after a seven-year hiatus and signals a broader reset in vision, structure and execution.
More than a cosmetic refresh, the new logo represents a fresh chapter for the league as it prepares to re-enter the sporting landscape with renewed purpose. Designed around the traditional red and blue wrestling mat, the emblem draws on the sport’s core identity while presenting a sharper, modern aesthetic. The colours symbolise strength, balance and competitive spirit values that sit at the heart of wrestling while also reflecting the league’s ambition to align with global professional standards.

The unveiling of the logo coincides with a complete overhaul of the league’s operational framework. PWL is now owned and managed by ONO Media, led by partners Akhil Gupta and Dayaan Farooqui. Under the new leadership, the league has moved away from previous models to rebuild from the ground up, prioritising transparency, professionalism and athlete welfare.
At the centre of PWL’s renewed mission is the aim to create a world-class professional platform for wrestlers in India. The league seeks to bridge the longstanding gap between traditional akhada training systems and the demands of elite international competition. By offering structured opportunities, consistent competition and exposure to global wrestling standards, PWL intends to serve as a credible pathway for Indian wrestlers aspiring to succeed beyond the domestic circuit.

Crucially, the revitalised league is being developed in close coordination with the Wrestling Federation of India. The affiliation ensures that PWL operates within national governance frameworks and contributes meaningfully to the broader ecosystem of Indian wrestling. For emerging athletes, this alignment is expected to provide a clearer progression route from grassroots development to national representation and international exposure.

Speaking at the launch, Akhil Gupta, CEO of the Pro Wrestling League, emphasised the symbolic and strategic importance of the rebrand. “The new logo reflects our vision for the future of the Pro Wrestling League modern, aggressive and world-class,” he said. “More importantly, it represents a clean slate. We are building a league that honours the sport and its athletes through transparency, professionalism and long-term commitment. The past is behind us, and the focus is firmly on creating a sustainable ecosystem for Indian wrestling.”
Dayaan Farooqui, Chairman of the Pro Wrestling League, echoed those sentiments, describing the logo as the beginning of a new era. “This identity represents trust, opportunity and ambition,” he said. “As we prepare for our return after seven years, our priority is firmly on placing athletes at the centre of the ecosystem and delivering a league that wrestlers, fans and stakeholders can truly believe in.”
The timing of PWL’s return is notable. Indian wrestling has continued to produce world-class talent on the international stage, but domestic professional opportunities have remained limited. A restructured Pro Wrestling League offers the potential to provide competitive depth, financial stability and visibility for wrestlers during non-international periods, while also engaging fans through a high-quality league format.

Set to return in January 2026, the fifth season of PWL is expected to feature a mix of top Indian and international wrestlers, promising intense matchups and a commercially viable model designed for longevity. While specific details around teams, formats and venues are yet to be announced, the emphasis on professionalism and athlete-first governance suggests a deliberate shift from short-term spectacle to sustainable growth.
With its new identity and reimagined framework, the Pro Wrestling League is positioning itself as more than just a comeback story. It represents an attempt to rebuild trust, restore credibility and create a durable platform that supports the future of Indian wrestling. As the countdown to January 2026 begins, the unveiling of the logo serves as a clear signal: PWL is back, with intent and direction.
