The Prime Volleyball League (PVL) powered by Scapia unveiled the full schedule for its much-anticipated fourth season on Tuesday, setting the stage for nearly a month of high-octane volleyball action.
The season will run from October 2 to October 26, 2025, with Hyderabad hosting the opener between defending champions Calicut Heroes and home side Hyderabad Black Hawks. The grand finale is slated for October 26. This edition will be the league’s biggest yet, with 10 teams in contention following the entry of the Goa Guardians, a new franchise making its debut. The expansion reflects both PVL’s rapid growth and volleyball’s rising popularity in India.
The Format: More Matches, More Drama
The 10 teams are split into two pools of five each. Over 21 matchdays, the league will feature 38 matches — 35 in the league stage, followed by two semi-finals and the final. Every team will play four matches within their pool and three against teams from the opposite pool. At the end of the league stage, the top four teams overall (regardless of pool) will qualify for the semi-finals on October 24. The winners will then battle for the trophy on October 26.
With double-headers scheduled on several evenings, the season is designed to maximize fan engagement and keep the playoff race tight until the very end.
Speaking at the announcement, Tuhin Mishra, Managing Director & Co-Founder of Baseline Ventures, called Season 4 “our biggest season yet.”
“With Goa Guardians joining the line-up, the league now has ten competitive teams, more international players, and a wider fan base. With Scapia as our partner, we are ready to power a league that raises the bar for volleyball in India.”
Joy Bhattacharjya, CEO of the Prime Volleyball League, highlighted the excitement built into the schedule:
“The schedule has been built for drama. Double-headers, key rivalries and a tight playoff window mean fans can expect action every single night. Volleyball has always had passionate support in India and this season we want to take that energy to a whole new level.”
