The final leg of the inaugural Indian Golf Premier League, IGPL Tour is set to deliver a fitting crescendo when the circuit heads to Colombo, Sri Lanka, later this month.

Headlining the event will be history-maker Pranavi Urs, who will tee off alongside Indian golfing icon Jeev Milkha Singh in what promises to be a memorable conclusion to a season that has redefined competitive golf in the region.

For Pranavi Urs, the Colombo event marks another significant milestone in a year that has already etched her name into Indian sporting folklore. Fresh from her sensational victory at the IGPL Mumbai Tour, the young amateur will once again test herself against a strong men’s field, underlining the inclusive and progressive ethos that the IGPL has championed since its launch.

Adding further star power to the finale is former Asian Tour No. 1 Jyot Randhawa, who will make his first appearance on the IGPL Tour. Randhawa, a multiple-time Asian Tour winner and a familiar face on the European Legends Tour alongside Jeev Milkha Singh, brings with him immense pedigree and experience. His presence, along with Jeev’s, elevates the Colombo event into a showcase of Indian golf across generations.

The IGPL’s inaugural season has been defined by depth, drama and high-quality golf. Gaganjeet Bhullar set the early tone by clinching back-to-back victories at Chandigarh and Jaypee Greens, establishing himself as the man to beat. Bhullar’s consistency across tours has been noteworthy; despite juggling commitments on the Asian Tour and the International Series, he returned to finish third at the IGPL Invitational in Ahmedabad, reaffirming his class and adaptability.

Equally impressive has been the steady presence of SSP Chawrasia. A six-time Asian Tour winner, Chawrasia has brought a sense of championship calm to every stop on the IGPL calendar. While victories have eluded him this season, his ability to stay in contention and influence leaderboards has reinforced the competitive intensity of the tour.

At the heart of the Order of Merit race, however, stands Aman Raj. The 30-year-old has been the breakout star of the season, producing a stretch of golf that has bordered on extraordinary. Victories at Jaipur and Kolkata were underpinned by astonishing scoring Aman carded a 9-under 61 on three occasions in just four rounds during that run. With earnings exceeding ₹60 lakh, he enters the Colombo finale as the Order of Merit leader, aware that one more strong performance could seal the season’s biggest prize.

Chasing him closely is a field packed with emerging and established names. Pukhraj Singh Gill announced himself in emphatic fashion at Jamshedpur, claiming his maiden professional title with a record nine-shot margin. Kapil Kumar, the Pune champion, has also remained a consistent threat, ensuring that the Order of Merit battle remains finely poised heading into the final week.

The stakes in Colombo are significant. Beyond prestige, players are competing for valuable opportunities, including coveted spots in the International Series India and the Asian Tour Qualifying School. For many, the IGPL Tour has become more than a domestic circuit it is a gateway to sustained international careers.

Yet, the defining image of the season remains Pranavi Urs’ historic triumph at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club in Mumbai. Making her IGPL debut, she delivered a performance for the ages, firing a bogey-free 8-under 60 in the final round to overturn a two-shot deficit. Her victory over a men’s professional field finishing two strokes clear of her boyfriend, Karandeep Kochhar made her the first Indian woman to win a professional tournament against men.

The win resonated far beyond the fairways. Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha hailed the achievement, stating that Pranavi’s performance proved “champions transcend gender.” It was a moment that aligned perfectly with the IGPL’s vision of breaking traditional barriers and creating a more inclusive competitive landscape.

Continuing that spirit, another accomplished female professional, Ridhima Dilawari, will also feature in Colombo. The final event will see a diverse field of 47 professionals and 13 amateurs from India and Sri Lanka, reinforcing the cross-border and inclusive character that has distinguished the tour from its inception.

As the IGPL Tour prepares to conclude its inaugural season on foreign soil, the Colombo finale represents both an end and a beginning.

It is a celebration of excellence, opportunity and progress embodied by icons like Jeev Milkha Singh, trailblazers like Pranavi Urs, and a new generation of golfers pushing Indian golf into uncharted territory.
