The 2025 Tennis Premier League concluded on a Sunday night, with GS Delhi Aces securing their first-ever title. This was the first time that the TPL was held outside of Maharashtra. Ahmedabad did not disappoint, featuring packed stadiums throughout the proceedings.

Luciano Darderi of Rajasthan Rangers serves against Billy Harris of GS Delhi Aces. Harris upset Darderi 17-8. The result was instrumental in ensuring that the GS Delhi Aces cruised into the final of the seventh season of the Tennis Premier League.

Sofia Costoulas was awarded as woman’s player of the tournament. The Belgian did not lose any of her women’s singles matches. More impressively, only once did she concede more than 10 points to the opponent. In the final, Sofia’s 18-7 win in the women’s singles match against Riya Bhatia kept the scoreboard pressure on the Yash Mumbai Eagles.

Apart from singles, Sofia’s mixed doubles matches partnering Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan were also a catalyst to the team’s point tally in each match.

Former Top 25 player Damir Dzumhur was awarded the men’s player of the tournament. The Bosnian played seven men’s singles matches, winning five of them. Besides, his doubles pairing with Niki Poonacha was also a success, as the duo won four of the six men’s doubles matches which they played.

Damir Dzumhur acknowledges the crowd for their support throughout the tournament. Speaking to IndiaSportsHub, he said, “The weather was perfect for tennis. Also, Indian people are very warm and welcoming.”

Clear Premium Drinking Water’s CEO Nayan Shah presented the Yash Mumbai Eagles with the runners-up cheque of 10 lakh INR. For the Eagles, Riya Bhatia, Niki Poonacha, and Damir Dzumhur were the star players. In the league phase, the Eagles won 260 of 500 points, helping them finish at number three on the leaderboard.
Later, in the semis, they defeated the crowd favorite side featuring Rohan Bopanna, Ramkumar Ramanathan, and Shrivalli Bhamidipaty, in what was arguably, the match of the tournament.

TPL founders Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain present the winners’ trophy to the GS Delhi Aces. It is the first TPL title for Delhi. With this win, Delhi became the fourth city after Pune, Hyderabad, and Bangalore to win the TPL title.

GS Delhi Aces were also awarded with 25 lakh INR as prize money. The GS Delhi Aces is owned by Vijay Pusedkar, CEO of Guru Samruddhi House of Investments. Indian tennis legend Leander Paes was the brand ambassador for the Aces. “I have been a part of Tennis Premier League since its inception.

This year is a special one for the league as it will become India’s fourth sporting league to complete seven successful seasons, and I am delighted to be associated with GS Delhi Aces,” said Paes.

The GS Delhi Aces are mentored by Gaurav Kapadia. Previously, he had been the mentor of the Mumbai Leon Army in the Tennis Premier League, who had reached the finals of the event twice (2021 and 2022), ending as the runners-up in both instances.

The victory margin of 51-36 is the second largest in the Tennis Premier League final and the highest since the 100 points format was introduced. And it was electric.
