Indian compound women’s team seal a finals berth by beating the Chinese team 229-224 in the SFs. They will be up against South Korea in the Gold Medal match
The Indian men’s compound team lost to China by a margin of 227-228. They will be up against South Korea in the bronze medal match.
The medal matches in the Compound event will take place on Monday, 31st July.
In the men’s individual compound event, Aman Saini and Sangampreet Bisla made it to the SFs and will face each other in the 1st SF.
So, an Indian finalist is confirmed.
In the women’s individual event, Avneet Kaur made it to the SFs and will face Cho of Korea there.

In the Recurve Archery event Indian men team lost the Semifinal to South Korea in a closely contested match 3-5 and will meet Italy in the bronze medal match
Women team lost to China 4-5 in a tie breaker match and will be up against France in the bronze medal match
India has a total of 227 entries in 11 sporting disciplines will be representing India at the biennial event from July 28 to August 8.
A total of 269 medals will be on offer at Chengdu, of which 50 are in athletics and 42 in swimming.

The biennial World University Games began in 1959 and India have been participating in the multi-sport meet since the inaugural edition.
India won five medals – one gold, one silver and three bronze – in 2015 which was the best performance while in the last edition India won four medals – one gold, one silver and two bronze.
India won its first ever Universiade medal in 1973 when Sambadi Boroute won bronze in the women’s 48kg wrestling. India won its first gold at the University Games as Harveen Sarao clinched the women’s 10m air pistol event in 2007
The events will take place over 47 venues, including one each venue for the opening and closing ceremony and 45 newly built for the event.
