Here is the Day one Schedule

1:50pm | Athletics, Asian Athletics championships 2025: Tejaswin Shankar will end the day 1 in men’s decathlon with a solid total of 4205 points..He clocked 50.10s in 400m, last event of Day 1. A SB of 2.19m in the high jump and a 50.10 clocking in 400m means Tejaswin Shankar will have 4205 points after end of day 1 of Decathlon.

TJ will lead the pack on day 1. It’ll be a close fight with Maruyama at 4065 on Day 2!

India has a Gold Medal

1:10pm Season’s outstanding performer Gulveer Singh bags India’s first gold at Asian Athletics Championships 2025. Very well done. This should help him qualify for Worlds as Area champion as well . He will get much needed points for the qualification in World Championships Very well done. A gold in 10,000m for India after 8 years at Asian Championships! Timing: 28:38.64. Mebuki Suzuki/JPN silver, Albert Rop/BHR bronze. It was Japan who had won the gold with a 29:18.44 from Tazawa.

1:00pm Asian Athletics championships 2025: Solid effort from Tejaswin Shankar in HJ of men’s decathlon as he registered a best of 2.19m (982 pts). His tally of points with this effort total up to 3395.. Will move into the lead after 4 events. He is chasing Muruyama who has a personal best of 8021 & Okuda with 8008 points

12:50pm Asian Athletics championships 2025: Vishal TK registers a brilliant PB of 46.05s to sail through to the finals in the 2nd heat of men’s 400m SFs. Jay Kumar placed 4th in heat 1 with 46.87s and unfortunately was not able to cross the SF barrier.

12:35pm Asian Athletics championships 2025: Annu Rani finishes outside of the podium in the women’s javelin event as she records a best of 58.30m. She records a best effort of 58.30m with her third attempt to finish just outside the podium places. The bronze medal went at 58.94m

11:00am We are back and we have TJ in High Jump, Javelin W Final, 400m SemiFinal & the phenomenal Gulveer in action. In Women Javelin National record holder Annu will be in action at 11:10am has a bronze in 2017 for a 57.32m then a Silver in 2019 for 60.22m. in 2023 Japanese Marina Saito had stopped the China force who had won six consecutive Gold Medal. Marina threw 61.67m which was 16cm better than Chinese Liu Shiying.


9:15am A Shot Put PB in Decathlon of 13.79m had fetched Tejaswin Shankar 715 points. He is now at 2nd place with 2413 points after competition of 3 events. High Jump next in evening session now. Maruyama still leads with 2458.

8:10am In Decathlon Tejaswin does a 7.28m in Long jump to garner highest points 881 from this event but he is still at second place with 1698pts behind Japanese Maruyama who is on 1754pts. Next up is Shot put. Tejaswin Shankar’s personal bests in the decathlon, an event combining ten different track and field events, are: 100m (10.81 seconds), long jump (7.63 meters), high jump (2.17 meters), 400m (48.41 seconds), shot put (13.77 meters), 110m hurdles (14.63 seconds), discus throw (36.67 meters), pole vault (3.81 meters), javelin throw (46.84 meters), and 1500m (4:36.10). He also holds the Indian national record in the decathlon with a score of 7666 points.

7:40am Men High Jump qualifying saw Sarvesh Kushare qualifying for the final with a 2.10m jump, he had won a silver medal with a 2.26m jump behind Woo for 2.28m. Can he claim the silver again?

7:10am In 400m Rupal & Vithya are through to the Final with a decent timing of 53.00s & 53.32s respectively. Matsumoto looks to be the athlete to beat for the Indian duo. India had won the silver at this event in 2023 with Aishwarya losing to Sri Lankan athlete clocking 53.07s in Final. Legendary P T Usha had won this event for four consecutive championships

6:40am Asian Athletics championships 2025: Vishal TK (46.81s, 2nd in H1) & Jay Kumar (47.26s, 2nd in H4) sail through to the SFs of men’s 400m event. Semifinal to take place later in the day today (around noon time in India). 🇨🇳 Fu Haoran topped the heat with 46.21s — he stunned the world with a closed-eye anchor leg at #WorldRelays, helping China qualify for #WorldAthleticsChamps with a national record! At the last championships Md Ajmal had topped his heat with 46.06 and Rajesh with 46.45

6:30am In the High Jump Sarvesh Kushare is yet to start his jumps, Reigning world indoor high jump champion Woo Sang-hyeok 🇰🇷 is in action in the men’s high jump qualification round at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships.

6:20am In the 400m H1 Indian Vishal Kayalvizhi clocked 46.81 to finish 2nd and qualified for semifinals

6:07am First Medal for India Asian Athletics championships 2025: India gets its 1st medal in the 26th edition of AAC held in Gumi courtesy of Servin Sebastian with a wonderful performance in men’s 20km race walk.. He won a Bronze Medal with a personal best of 1:21:13. Breakaway win for China’s Wang in 1:20:37 with Japan’s Yoshikawa silver and Servin Sebastian in bronze. India has three golds in the event 1979 – Hakam Singh Gold,  1981 – Chand Ram Gold ,1983 – Chand Ram Gold. Servin has been India’s most consistent Race Walker over last 1.5 year & this is a vet well deserved medal. Well done

6:05am Asian Athletics championships 2025: Yoonus Shah is safely through to the finals of the men’s 1500m as he clocked 3:46.96 mins in the first heat to place 2nd..Was visibly upset after giving away 1st place because of showboating. Final scheduled for tomorrow. Yoonus had earlier clocked a lifetime best of 3:41.93 at the Federation Cup, where he sealed his spot for the Asian Championships.
