The Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 India’s premier multi-sport university competition returns for its fifth edition with its most ambitious format yet, spanning seven host cities across Rajasthan.

From November 24 to December 5, thousands of university athletes will compete for national supremacy in 23 medal sports, with the university securing the most gold medals ultimately crowned champion. This year marks a historic first for Rajasthan, which will host KIUG across Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Bikaner, and Bharatpur, deploying one of the most complex multi-city sporting operations ever managed in India.  

With close to 5,000 athletes from over 230 universities expected to participate, the Games offer a perfect blend of elite competition, regional sporting development, and cultural showcase. Below is the complete sport-wise schedule, along with a breakdown of venues and event timelines.

Opening Week: Precision & Indoor Sports Set the Games in Motion (Nov 24 – 28)

The Games open with high-skill, precision-based sports largely hosted in Jaipur, the central hub of KIUG 2025.

Archery | Dates: 24–28 November

Venue: Jagatpura Archery Range, Jaipur

Archery opens the Games with all major recurve and compound events. The venue also supports Shooting logistics as part of Jaipur’s precision-sport cluster.  

Badminton | Dates: 24–28 November

Venue: Badminton Indoor Hall, SMS Stadium, Jaipur

Shooting | Dates: 24 November – 2 December

Venue: Jagatpura Shooting Range, Jaipur

One of the longest events in KIUG, Shooting stretches into the second week due to its extensive categories and high participation.

Cycling | Dates: 24–28 November

Venue: SMS Stadium, Jaipur

Cycling includes both track and road events, utilising Jaipur’s upgraded infrastructure.  

Major Multi-Sport Intensification Begins (Nov 25 – 28) From November 25, the Games enter the busiest phase of their schedule, with seven sports starting simultaneously across six cities.

Venue: Indoor Hall, Chainpoora Stadium, Jodhpur

Judo | Dates: 25–28 November

Venue: Atal Vihari Vajpayee Indoor Multipurpose Hall, Udaipur

Udaipur becomes the combat-sports hub with judo featuring 112 athletes from 51 universities.  

Swimming | Dates: 25–28 November

Venue: Swimming Complex, SMS Stadium, Jaipur

Fencing | Dates: 25–28 November

Venue: Hall 2, Raghurai Endo Sports Complex, Kota

Wrestling | Dates: 25–28 November

Venue: Indoor Hall, Lohagarh Stadium, Bharatpur

Weightlifting | Dates: 25–28 November

Venue: Indoor Hall, Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner

Hockey | Dates: 25 November – 3 December

Venue: Hockey Ground, SMS Stadium, Jaipur

Football | Dates: 25 November – 4 December

Venue: JECRC University, Jaipur & Poornima University, Jaipur

Football, the longest outdoor event, spans 10 days with group stages and knockout rounds.

Rugby, Tennis and the First New Sport Join the Programme (Nov 26 – Dec 1)

Rugby | Dates: 26–28 November

Venue: Patel Stadium, Ajmer

Rugby’s inclusion in Ajmer helps distribute high-impact outdoor sports across regions.

Tennis | Dates: 28 November – 4 December

Venue: Tennis Courts, SMS Stadium, Jaipur

Beach Volleyball | Dates: 28 November – 1 December

Venue: Ganga Ghat, Udaipur

A major highlight: Beach Volleyball makes its KIUG debut, played on specially prepared sand courts along the scenic Ganga Ghat near Mahakaleshwar Temple.  

Mid-Tournament Action: Table Tennis & Volleyball (Nov 30 – Dec 4)

Table Tennis | Dates: 30 November – 3 December

Venue: Indoor Hall, Chainpoora Stadium, Jaipur

Volleyball | Dates: 1–4 December

Venue: Hall 2, Raghurai Endo Sports Complex, Kota

Final Week: Athletics Headlines a Packed Finish (Dec 1 – 5)

The final stretch of KIUG 2025 features some of the largest spectator events.

Athletics will decide a large share of the medal tally and can significantly impact the university championship race.

Mallakhamba remains among the most culturally significant disciplines of KIUG and features prominently in KIUG’s mission to integrate indigenous sports.  

Kayaking & Canoeing Close Out Udaipur’s Participation (Dec 2 – 4)

Kayaking & Canoeing | Dates: 2–4 December

Venue: Fateh Sagar Lake, Udaipur

One of the most visually striking elements of KIUG 2025, the water sports cluster in Udaipur leverages the city’s natural landscape and introduces a high-performance aquatic discipline to the university ecosystem.

KIUG 2025’s schedule demonstrates how Rajasthan’s decentralized model maximizes existing infrastructure while building new capacities across the state.
