Of the four male singles entries only Sameer Verma missed out on the next round.
It was a good day for Indian badminton fans as three of the four participants entered in the Men Singles draw of Malaysian Masters 2022 won their matches to make it to the second round i.e. pre-quarterfinals.
The day started with Olympian Sai Praneeth getting better of the Start of Tokyo Olympics Kevin Gordon from Guatemala. He raised a lot of hopes when Sameer won the first game 21-10 but CTC came back roaring in the second game and ensured he closed the match before an onslaught from Sameer. Eventually Sameer who showed a lot of promise lost 21-10, 12-21, 14-21.
