Indian tennis player Karan Singh continued his impressive rise on the ITF circuit by winning the men’s singles title at the M15 Monastir in Tunisia this week.

The 21-year-old, currently ranked 437 in the ATP rankings, lifted his second title of the season with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 win over Algeria’s Toufik Sahtali (ranked 1082) in the final.

The straight-sets victory capped a week of consistent, high-level tennis for Karan, who dropped only one set throughout the tournament and that too in the opening round before storming through the draw to claim the title. This triumph follows his earlier win at the M15 Tehran earlier this year and marks his fourth final appearance of the season on the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour.

A week of statement wins

Karan Singh, seeded No.1 in the tournament, opened his campaign in Monastir against Australia’s Hayden Jones, a former junior world No.9 known for his shot-making and big-match temperament. Despite losing the opening set, Karan regrouped to edge past Jones in three sets, showing resilience after tough recent losses, including a match against Andaloro where he held five match points but couldn’t convert.

Building on that momentum, Karan next faced Tunisia’s Alaa Trifi, an unranked qualifier but highly regarded in junior circles as a former top-60 ITF junior at the start of the year. Karan kept his composure to post a 6-4, 6-4 victory, setting up a quarterfinal clash with France’s Maxence Bertimon (ATP 837).

In the quarterfinals, Karan produced arguably his most dominant performance of the week, breezing past Bertimon 6-3, 6-0, finishing the match with a run of nine consecutive games. He then carried that form into the semifinals, where he dispatched Nicaragua’s Joaquin Guilleme (ranked 1966), another young prospect, 6-1, 6-3 to secure a place in yet another final this season.

Dominant final display

Facing Algeria’s Toufik Sahtali, Karan Singh brought both precision and aggression to the court. He broke early, maintained relentless pressure from the baseline, and wrapped up the opening set 6-0 in under half an hour.

The second set saw Sahtali put up some resistance, but Karan continued to dictate rallies, eventually closing out the match 6-0, 6-2 without facing a single break point.

This final performance was particularly impressive given Karan’s path to the title: after his challenging three-setter in the first round, he won four consecutive matches in straight sets, conceding just 15 games across those matches.

A season gathering momentum

This title marks Karan Singh’s second on the ITF circuit this year, coming after his victory in Tehran, and his fourth final in 2025. His steady run of results is set to boost his ATP ranking further, projected to move inside the top 405. This will also make him India no2

Beyond the ranking points, these consistent results are crucial for Karan’s confidence, especially after close losses earlier in the season. Wins over promising young players like Hayden Jones, Alaa Trifi, and Joaquin Guilleme, all of whom have strong junior resumes, highlight Karan’s ability to manage pressure and sustain form through a week-long event.

The next step

At just 21, Karan Singh has emerged as one of India’s brightest prospects on the professional men’s circuit. His game, built on a solid baseline foundation and an increasingly reliable serve, has shown maturity in handling tricky opponents and momentum shifts.

While ITF titles at the M15 level are an important milestone, Karan’s next target will be to translate this consistency into higher-level events M25 and Challenger tournaments where deeper fields await and ranking points are more substantial.

A breakthrough at those levels could set him on course for ATP qualifying events and potentially Grand Slam qualifiers in the next year or two.

Karan Singh’s title at M15 Monastir is more than just a week of wins; it’s a sign of an Indian player steadily building a game and mindset suited for the demands of the professional tour. From his fighting comeback in the first round to the dominant scoreline in the final, Karan showcased both resilience and control qualities essential for the next stage of his career.

With two ITF titles already this year and ranking momentum on his side, Indian tennis fans have every reason to keep an eye on Karan Singh as he aims for bigger stages. Congratulations to Karan on another confident step forward on the international circuit.
