The 2025 Doha Diamond League in Qatar promises thrilling Indian representation across multiple events, with four Indian athletes competing in individual disciplines.
The meet, set for May 16, will see top Indian stars like Neeraj Chopra, Kishore Kumar Jena, Parul Chaudhary, and Gulveer Singh on the grand stage among world-class fields.
Neeraj Chopra Headlines Javelin Throw
Olympic and World Champion Neeraj Chopra returns to Doha — a venue where he has consistently performed at the highest level.
- In 2023, Neeraj won the Doha DL with a throw of 88.67m.
- In 2024, he narrowly missed the top spot, finishing second with 88.36m, just 2cm behind the winner.
Now in 2025, after opening his season with a throw of 84.52m at the Potch Invitational in South Africa, Chopra will look to reclaim the Doha crown.

He will be joined by Kishore Kumar Jena, who returns to Doha after finishing ninth in 2024 (76.31m). This is India’s first-ever double representation in men’s javelin at a Diamond League meet — an exciting milestone.
The competition includes elite names like:
- Jakub Vadlejch (CZE) – 2024 DL winner
- Anderson Peters (GRN) – Two-time world champion
- Julian Weber & Max Dehning (GER)
- Roderick Genki Dean (JPN)
- Julius Yego (KEN)
Parul Chaudhary Begins 2025 Campaign
India’s distance star Parul Chaudhary begins her 2025 season in the 3000m Steeplechase, aiming to build momentum ahead of the major championships this year.
This will be Parul’s first competitive race since her strong 2024 season, where she consistently broke barriers in both the steeplechase and flat distance events.
She faces a formidable field that includes:
- Peruth Chemutai (UGA) – Olympic champion
- Faith Cherotich (KEN) – World medallist
- Winfred Yavi (BRN) – World champion
- Marwa Bouzayani (TUN) & Sembo Almayew (ETH)
Gulveer Singh Makes Diamond League Debut
Gulveer Singh, one of India’s most promising distance runners, will mark a historic debut in the men’s 5000m. This is the first time an Indian male distance runner competes in this event at the Diamond League.
Gulveer will test himself against a high-quality lineup featuring:
- Mohamed Abdilaahi (GER) – SB: 13:05.21
- Birhanu Balew (BRN)
- Khari Bejiga, Kuma Girma, Getnet Wale (ETH)
- Reynold Cheruiyot, Boaz Kiprugut, Edwin Kurgat (KEN)
- Cooper Teare (USA)
Gulveer’s inclusion is a major step forward for Indian long-distance running on the global stage.
