Indian golf is set to take a significant stride onto the global stage as the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) heads overseas for the first time, with the IGPL Invitational 2025 UAE teeing off in Dubai.
The landmark event brings together an extraordinary mix of Indian golfing icons, emerging stars, leading women professionals and international players, underlining the rapid growth and ambition of the young tour.
At the centre of attention once again is Gaganjeet Bhullar, whose flawless record in the inaugural IGPL season has been nothing short of remarkable. Bhullar has won every IGPL event he has entered so far in Chandigarh, Jaypee Greens and Ahmedabad and now arrives in Dubai chasing an unprecedented fourth victory in as many starts. Having already proven his class across nine wins on the Asian Tour, Bhullar will be keen to carry his red-hot form beyond Indian shores.

Joining him is a name synonymous with Indian golf excellence, Jeev Milkha Singh. A multiple winner on the DP World Tour, Asian Tour and Japan Tour, Jeev makes his long-awaited IGPL debut this week. Dubai holds special significance for him, having competed here numerous times at the Dubai Desert Classic, and his participation marks another milestone for the league as it attracts legends who shaped Indian golf on the global stage.

“This is a big moment for IGPL,” said Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of the Indian Golf Premier League. “Moving abroad for the first time with a new Indian golf product shows how far the tour has come. Across nine events, including the co-sanctioned Bharath Classic, IGPL has gained tremendous traction. Hosting the Invitational in Dubai is a major step towards making this a truly global tour.”
The star power does not end there. Shiv Kapur and SSP Chawrasia, both familiar faces on the IGPL, return with added significance. Kapur, a former Asian Games gold medallist and four-time Asian Tour winner, will play a dual role as competitor and host. Chawrasia brings his vast experience as a six-time Asian Tour champion and four-time DP World Tour winner.

“This is an event we’ve been working towards for a long time,” Kapur said. “To have the best of Indian golf here in Dubai speaks volumes about the strength of the IGPL family.”
The field is further enriched by seasoned campaigners such as Gaurav Ghei, Harmeet Kahlon, C Muniyappa and Chiragh Kumar, while the next generation is represented by promising talents including Karandeep Kochhar, Olympian Udayan Mane and Dubai-based coach and former pro Sujjan Singh.
One of IGPL’s defining features continues to be its commitment to inclusivity, and the Dubai leg is no exception. Nine women professionals are part of the 48-player field, led by Pranavi Urs, Avani Prashanth and Hitaashee Bakshi, all of whom have already secured Ladies European Tour cards for 2026. Pranavi’s presence carries added significance, as she made history earlier this season by becoming the first woman to win an IGPL event in a mixed professional field in Mumbai. The women’s contingent is further strengthened by Vani Kapoor, Amandeep Drall, Ridhima Dilawari and Jasmine Shekar.

The competitive narrative extends to the IGPL Order of Merit, where consistency and wins are producing a fascinating battle. Despite having played only three events, Bhullar sits third with earnings of ₹67.5 lakh, narrowly trailing leader Aman Raj (₹75.13 lakh) and Sachin Baisoya (₹73.46 lakh). Big-hitting Pukhraj Singh Gill is close behind, followed by young rookie Kartik Singh, who continues to impress in his debut season.
Interestingly, of the top four on the leaderboard, only Baisoya is yet to register a victory, though his consistency has kept him firmly in contention. “It’s just a matter of time,” Baisoya said. “The key is staying patient and keeping the game solid.”
Adding further intrigue are young stars Veer Ganapathy, Kartik Singh and Raghav Chugh, all of whom are chasing their maiden IGPL title. Each has come close this season, and Dubai could be the stage where one of them finally breaks through. With 48 professionals, including nine women and eight amateurs, as well as international representation from the UAE and South Africa, the IGPL’s first overseas event signals the league’s growing credibility.
As Indian golf’s leading names converge in Dubai, the IGPL Invitational 2025 UAE promises not just elite competition, but a bold statement of intent that Indian golf is ready to travel, compete and thrive on the global stage.
