India’s compound women’s archery team delivered a commanding performance at the Archery World Cup Stage-1 in Puebla, Mexico, securing a place in the final and assuring the nation of at least a silver medal.

The trio of Pragati, V. Jyothi Surekha, and Madhura Dhamangaonkar showed poise and precision through the knockouts to set up a title clash against the United States.

As the top-ranked team in the draw, India received a bye in the opening round, a seeding advantage earned through consistent international performances over the past year. In the quarterfinals, India faced a stiff test against Denmark. The contest was tight, but the Indian trio held their nerve to edge the match 235–234, a narrow victory that highlighted both their accuracy and composure under pressure.

India’s rise in women’s compound archery has been one of the most consistent success stories in recent years. V. Jyothi Surekha, one of the most accomplished compound archers in the world, continues to be a key pillar of the squad.
