The headline of the day came from the Compound Mixed Team, where Abhishek Verma and Deepshikha defended India’s continental crown with a gritty 153–151 victory over Bangladesh in the final. The Indian pair, showed tremendous control across all four ends. India opened strongly, building a narrow lead that they never relinquished. While Bangladesh tried to mount a comeback in the third end, Verma’s poise and Deepshikha’s consistency maintained the buffer. The duo closed the match with the maturity expected from defending champions, sealing back-to-back Asian titles for India.

With this win, Abhishek one of India’s most decorated compound archers added yet another continental gold to his long list of honours, while Deepshikha continued her remarkable rise in 2025, emerging as one of India’s standout performers of the season.

Women’s Compound Team: Champions Once Again

India’s Compound Women’s Team added another golden chapter to the country’s tradition of excellence in the event. The trio of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep, and Deepshikha delivered a top-class performance to beat South Korea 236–234 in a tense final and successfully defend their Asian crown. The match was a showcase of precision shooting, but it was India who displayed superior consistency. Korea, known for producing high-pressure specialists, matched India in momentum but struggled to break through the Indian rhythm in the final end.

The standout performance came from Deepshikha, who produced a perfect 80/80, underlining her exceptional form and playing a crucial role in both team and mixed team success. Jyothi, the leader of India’s compound setup, maintained her trademark solidity, while young Prithika showed immense maturity in one of the biggest matches of her career.

With this victory, India extended their dominance in the women’s compound team event, continuing a golden run that has spanned multiple years and multiple finals against top Asian opponents.

Men’s Compound Team: Heartbreak by One Point, but a Strong Silver

India’s Compound Men’s Team Prathamesh Fuge, Sahil Jadhav, and Abhishek Verma produced one of the closest contests of the championship but fell agonisingly short in the final, losing 229–230 to Kazakhstan.

India entered the final with excellent momentum, having beaten Thailand and Malaysia in earlier rounds. In the final, they began steadily and matched Kazakhstan almost arrow for arrow. Despite a strong comeback attempt, Kazakhstan held their nerve in the last two arrows to edge ahead by just one point. Though the result stings, the silver remains a commendable achievement for a team that has grown remarkably over the past two seasons. The emergence of Prathamesh and Sahil alongside the experienced Abhishek Verma gives India a strong lineup capable of challenging the best nations consistently. India had won a Bronze in the last edition.
