India Announce a full strength Men Hockey Squad for CWG 2022. Manpreet to Lead

Asian Games postponement has triggered this move as now a full strength  Hockey Squad Indian Team will be now taking part in the Birmingham CWG games.

The men hockey team led by Manpreet Singh has all the big names like P R Sreejesh, Harmanpreet Singh, Lalit Upadhyay and Nilakanta Sharma

Indian men returned medal-less at the last games as after being unbeaten at the group stage they lost the Semifinal to NewZealand. In the bronze medal playoff they lost to England.

Players who were present at the last games as well are Sreejesh, Varun Kumar, Harmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Manpreet, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Gurjant, Mandeep and Lalit.

In fact Sreejesh , Manpreet & Akashdeep will be playing their 3rd CWG hockey at Birmingham. Only Sardar Singh had done it before. With the trio and 7 players on 2nd CWG appearance, the 2022 Ind team is the most experienced in their 24-yr CWG history

India is grouped with host England, Wales, Canada and Ghana. Going by the current form one will expect the team to easily qualify for the next round if not top the group.
