The wait is over. The sixth season of Ultimate Table Tennis UTT season 6 kicks off on May 31 in Ahmedabad, and it promises to be bigger, faster, and bolder.

With IndianOil returning as the title sponsor for the third consecutive year, and matches broadcast live on Star Sports and JioCinema, the league is poised to deliver edge-of-the-seat action and further ignite India’s table tennis dreams.

A Grand Start in Ahmedabad

For the very first time, UTT will be held in Ahmedabad, with matches hosted at the EKA Arena. The season begins with a blockbuster double-header — Dabang Delhi TTC, the 2018 champions, will take on Sreeja Akula-led Jaipur Patriots, followed by a thrilling clash between defending champions Dempo Goa Challengers and the home team Ahmedabad SG Pipers.

The 2025 edition features eight teams, 23 ties, and culminates in the final on June 15.

The UTT Format

Each team will play five ties in the league stage. A tie consists of five matches: two men’s singles, two women’s singles, and one mixed doubles match. This quick, engaging format ensures every match carries weight, keeping the action high and the pressure higher.

The top four teams at the end of the league stage move into the semifinals, scheduled for June 13 and 14, with the final showdown set for June 15.

Seven of the ties will be double-headers, scheduled for 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM, while single matches begin at 7:30 PM.

All eyes will be on Dempo Goa Challengers, the back-to-back champions from Seasons 4 and 5. Can they complete a historic three-peat? With Indian stars like Harmeet Desai and Singapore’s Zeng Jian, they are well-positioned to chase glory yet again. But the path won’t be easy.

A high-voltage rematch of last year’s final between Dempo Goa and Dabang Delhi is lined up for June 4 — a tie that promises fireworks with Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Diya Chitale going up against their Goa counterparts.

Sathiyan Eyes MVP Hat-Trick

Speaking of stars, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, arguably the face of Indian table tennis, will look to add another Most Valuable Player (MVP) title to his name. Having already clinched two MVP awards in UTT history, his consistency, flair, and fighting spirit continue to inspire the next generation of Indian paddlers. Can he make it three this season?

This season also sees the debut of the Kolkata ThunderBlades, who bring with them a star-studded lineup including Olympians Quadri Aruna and Adriana Diaz, alongside India’s rising youth sensation Ankur Bhattacharjee. They face Chennai Lions, led by Fan Siqi, the most expensive pick in this year’s auction, and India’s former World Youth No.1 Payas Jain, on June 2.

The Western Derby between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, scheduled for the same day, will see U Mumba TT led by world No. 14 Bernadette Szocs and India’s Yashaswini Ghorpade face off against a tough Ahmedabad side.

Grassroots Push: The Dream UTT Juniors Revolution

UTT Season 6 is more than just elite competition. In collaboration with Dream Sports Foundation, UTT has launched Dream UTT Juniors, a first-of-its-kind U-15 league to bridge the gap between grassroots and elite-level table tennis.

The top 8 boys and girls from the Dream Sports Championship Table Tennis 2025 have been drafted into the eight UTT franchises.

Matches are streamed live on FanCode, giving young talents a national platform and a taste of the pro league experience. This is a major step in fueling India’s Olympic 2036 dream, and Dream Sports’ investment alongside Vita Dani, UTT Co-Promoter, shows how serious Indian table tennis is about long-term development.

Growing the Sport: Tickets at ₹99

In a move to increase accessibility and grow the sport’s fanbase, UTT tickets are priced from just ₹99. This season is about community, celebration, and bringing fans closer to the action — especially in a city like Ahmedabad that’s hosting for the very first time.

Roster Updates and Injury Watch

Jennifer Varghese’s unfortunate injury saw her ruled out of the season, but Poymantee Baisya has stepped in to fill the spot for the Chennai Lions. With top paddlers from across the globe, including China, Singapore, Spain, and Colombia, the mix of international flair and Indian heart is stronger than ever.

The continued partnership with IndianOil for the third straight year has been a major catalyst in the league’s evolution. Their support goes beyond branding — it’s about fueling ambition, supporting talent, and sustaining excellence.

IndianOil’s belief in UTT’s vision has helped create a platform where India’s best and brightest can test themselves against the world’s finest.
