The JSW Indian Open has officially announced the dates for its 2026 edition, with the PSA-recognised tournament set to take place from March 18 to 22 in Mumbai.

Following the successful staging of its inaugural edition at the iconic Bombay Gymkhana last year, the tournament will move to the historic Cricket Club of India (CCI) Brabourne Stadium for its second edition. Tickets for the event are now available exclusively on District by Zomato.

Recognised by the Professional Squash Association (PSA), the JSW Indian Open builds on the momentum generated by its 2025 edition, which was named among the Top 10 Iconic PSA Events of the year. The recognition marked a significant milestone for professional squash in India and reflected the growing stature of the tournament on the international circuit.

The 2026 edition will see defending women’s champion Anahat Singh return to headline the draw, leading a strong Indian contingent. Also featuring in the line-up are India’s top professionals Ramit Tandon, Abhay Singh, Veer Chotrani, Velavan Senthilkumar and Joshna Chinappa. They will be joined by international contenders including Yahya Elnawasany, Hana Moataz and Mazen Hesham, setting the stage for a highly competitive week of world-class squash.

This year’s edition will also carry a prize purse of USD 44,500 each for both the men’s and women’s events — a first for a tournament in India. Classified as a PSA Copper event, the JSW Indian Open continues to strengthen its position within the global professional squash calendar while providing Indian players an opportunity to compete against elite international talent on home soil.

Divyanshu Singh, CEO of JSW Sports, expressed his optimism ahead of the tournament, stating that the response to last year’s edition had been extremely encouraging. He noted that the 2025 tournament brought together leading Indian and international players and highlighted the rising standards of Indian squash.

With squash set to make its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, Singh emphasised that this is a pivotal moment for the sport in India, with platforms such as the JSW Indian Open becoming increasingly significant in offering Indian players exposure to top-tier competition as they build towards the global stage.

Manisha Malhotra, President of the Inspire Institute of Sport, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the importance of Indian players competing against international opposition on home courts. She added that last year’s edition reaffirmed the value of such tournaments as key platforms for emerging Indian athletes to test themselves at the highest level, and expressed confidence that the upcoming edition would deliver high-intensity matches in front of packed stands.

Cyrus Poncha, Secretary General of the Squash Rackets Federation of India, noted that the JSW Indian Open has quickly established itself as an important stop on the PSA Tour calendar. He pointed out that the tournament has played a crucial role in raising the profile of squash in the country by providing Indian players with exposure to world-class competition, while simultaneously allowing fans to experience elite-level matches live.

A key highlight of the 2026 edition will be the staging of the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals on a full glass court, transforming the venue into an arena-style squash theatre designed for high-energy, close-quarters viewing. The upgraded presentation is expected to enhance the spectator experience and add to the tournament’s growing appeal among fans.

With a larger stage, equal prize money across men’s and women’s draws, and a line-up featuring both elite Indian and international talent, the 2026 JSW Indian Open is poised to further cement India’s position on the global squash calendar while contributing to the long-term development of the sport in the country.
