Day 6 of the Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League (REIHL) Season 3 delivered one of the most memorable nights of the tournament so far, highlighted by a new league record for the fastest goal and a flurry of high-scoring contests at the Nawang Dorjay Stobdan (NDS) Stadium in Leh.

Purig Warriors forward Anwar Hussain etched his name into the REIHL record books by scoring the quickest goal in the league’s history a blistering finish just four seconds into their match against Kharu Falcons. The feat bettered the previous season record of nine seconds, which had been set earlier this season by Stanzin Phuntsog of Kangs Sing. With two speed records already broken in Season 3, the tournament continues to push the boundaries of intensity and attacking play.

The day also saw convincing victories for Shakar Chiktan Royals and Zanskar Chadar Tamers, while Humas Warriors emerged as the highest scorers of the day with a dominant display.

Royals assert control against United Nubra

Shakar Chiktan Royals set the tone for the day with a commanding 6–3 win over United Nubra. The Royals were sharp from the opening face-off, using quick puck movement and aggressive forechecking to keep Nubra under sustained pressure. Altaf Hussain and Ashiq Hussain both struck twice, giving the Royals early control and closing out the match in style. Tayief Ali and Villayat Ali added well-taken tap-ins as Shakar Chiktan built a comfortable lead through the first two periods.

The Zanskar Chadar Tamers followed with a ruthless 7–2 victory over Maryul Spawo, led by a sensational four-goal performance from Jigmath. He struck early to put Tamers ahead and capped the night with another late finish to underline their control. Rinchen Wangyal was also in outstanding form, scoring twice first with a precise drag shot and then with a powerful slapshot through Spawo’s defence. Tsering Sangay added another with a clean wrist shot.

Maryul Spawo briefly brought themselves back into contention in the second period when Stanzin Stanba levelled the scores, and Asif Ali added a tap-in shortly after. But the Tamers responded immediately with a surge of goals that effectively put the game beyond reach.

Anwar Hussain’s four-second strike inspires Purig

The clash between Purig Warriors and Kharu Falcons will be remembered for Anwar Hussain’s extraordinary four-second opener, a moment of pure instinct and sharp anticipation that stunned the crowd. Anwar wasn’t done there. He returned late in the match to score again, ensuring Purig secured a 4–2 victory. Sajjad Jr and Captain Sajjad Hussain also got on the scoresheet, giving the Warriors a balanced attacking display.

Kharu Falcons fought back through two tap-ins by Jigmet Choster, one early and one late, but they were unable to overcome Purig’s quick strikes and disciplined defence.

Humas Warriors pile on the goals

Humas Warriors rounded off the day in emphatic fashion with a 9–2 demolition of Changla Blasters, making them the highest-scoring team of the day. Waseem Bilal was unstoppable, scoring four goals including a thunderous slapshot and three well-timed tap-ins. Mohd Issa added two more, while Mohd Ibrahim, Rashid Hassanain, and Captain Moheb Ur Rehman Mir all found the net to complete the rout.

For Changla Blasters, Angchok Dorjey scored an early equaliser before Stanzin Mingyur added a consolation in the final period, but Humas’ relentless pressure proved far too strong.
