Second seed Rei Sakamoto of Japan will take on fifth seed Oliver Crawford of Great Britain in the men’s singles semi-finals at the ATP Delhi Open 2026, as the tournament heads into its decisive stages at the DLTA Complex.

The other semi-final will feature two unseeded contenders, Greece’s Stefanos Sakellaridis and Britain’s Felix Gill, setting up an intriguing final-four lineup in the ATP Challenger 75 event being held from February 16 to 22.

Sakamoto, a former junior World No. 1 and the 2024 Australian Open boys’ singles champion, showcased resilience in his quarter-final clash against sixth seed Federico Cina of Italy. After narrowly dropping the opening set in a tie-break, the Japanese teenager regrouped to control proceedings in the next two sets, eventually securing a 6-7(7), 6-3, 6-2 victory. The turnaround highlighted Sakamoto’s composure under pressure as he maintained consistency from the baseline and capitalised on Cina’s dip in intensity.

Awaiting him in the semi-finals is Oliver Crawford, who came through a hard-fought all-British encounter against third seed Jay Clarke. Crawford dropped the first set 3-6 but mounted a strong comeback, saving a match point late in the second set before edging it 7-5. Carrying that momentum into the decider, he closed out the contest 6-3 to seal his place in the last four.

Reflecting on the match, Crawford acknowledged the familiarity between the two players. “Jay is one of my good mates. We have played for the same country, so spent a decent amount of time travelling around and practising together, so I knew it was going to be a battle. I was lucky to get away in the second, and then I thought the level was very high from both ends in the third. Just very pleased to get over the line,” he said.

In the other singles quarter-finals, Stefanos Sakellaridis produced one of the most dominant performances of the day, dismantling eighth seed Rio Noguchi of Japan 6-0, 6-3. The Greek controlled rallies from the outset, breaking early and frequently to maintain a firm grip on the match. Felix Gill, meanwhile, had to dig deep to overcome Belgium’s Michael Geerts. After losing the first set 4-6, Gill responded with improved shot selection and court coverage to take the next two sets 6-3, 6-4, booking his place in the semi-finals.

While India’s singles campaign has concluded for the year, the nation’s hopes remain alive in the doubles draw. The top-seeded pairing of Siddhant Banthia (India) and Alexander Donski (Bulgaria) advanced to the semi-finals with a straight-sets 6-3, 6-4 win over Indian wildcard entrants Divij Sharan and Karan Singh. Banthia and Donski maintained a steady service rhythm and capitalised on key break opportunities to keep the match under control.

Joining them in the last four are second seeds Niki Kalyanda Poonacha of India and Pruchya Isaro of Thailand. The duo, who lifted the Chennai Open ATP Challenger title last week, extended their winning streak with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory over Switzerland’s Luca Castelnuovo and Japan’s Rio Noguchi. Their commanding performance keeps the possibility of an Indian doubles champion firmly in contention.

Historically, India has produced all-Indian doubles champions twice at this event, with Saketh Myneni and Sanam Singh lifting the title in 2015, followed by Yuki Bhambri and Mahesh Bhupathi in 2016. In singles, Somdev Devvarman remains the only Indian champion in the tournament’s history, having secured back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015.

As an ATP Challenger 75 event, the Delhi Open offers significant ranking incentives. The singles and doubles champions will receive 75 ATP ranking points, while the singles runner-up will earn 44 points and the doubles runners-up will receive 50 points. The singles champion will also take home $17,000 in prize money, with the runner-up earning $9,600. In doubles, the winning pair will split $4,980, while the runners-up will share $2,880.

With the semi-finals now set in both draws, the ATP Delhi Open 2026 enters its final stretch, promising high-quality contests as players vie for crucial ranking points and the season’s early silverware.
