India signed off from the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship New Delhi 2026 with a commanding performance, finishing atop the medal standings with an impressive haul of 94 medals 51 gold, 23 silver and 20 bronze at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.

The hosts capped their dominant campaign by adding six gold, three silver and four bronze medals on the final day, underlining their depth across senior and junior categories. Podium sweeps in key pistol events and multiple team golds ensured India closed the championship with authority.

The final day began with a clinical display in the 25m Centre Fire Pistol, where India locked out the podium. Amanpreet Singh claimed gold with a composed aggregate of 589-24x across the Precision and Rapid stages. Olympian Gurpreet Singh followed with silver at 584-20x, while Ankur Goel secured bronze with 570-11x.

The trio’s consistency across both stages also delivered team gold, adding to India’s overall tally and setting the tone for the day.

In the 25m Pistol Junior event, Suraj Sharma continued his fine run of form, winning gold with a strong 585-25x. Mukesh Nelavalli added to his medal collection at this championship with silver (582-21x), while Deaflympics medallist Abhinav Deshwal completed the Indian podium sweep with bronze (573-17x). The three juniors combined effectively to clinch team gold, reflecting the country’s sustained pipeline in pistol shooting.

Kazakhstan’s Yelizaveta Bezrukova claimed gold in the event.

Sift and Tejaswani, alongside Manini Kaushik, combined to secure team gold, reinforcing India’s collective strength in rifle shooting.

In the junior women’s 50m Rifle Prone, Dhavalika Devi Nyamurus secured bronze with 614.1, as Kazakhstan’s Tomiris Amanova and Darya Ponomarenko took gold and silver respectively. India’s trio of Prachi Gaikwad, Anuskha Thokur and Dhavalika ensured another team gold, continuing the pattern of strong group performances throughout the championship.
