In a significant step towards building structured and sustainable pathways for women runners in India, Aspect Sports has announced a partnership with Pinkathon, the country’s largest women’s running movement.

Under the collaboration, Aspect Sports comes on board as the Official Sports Partner, bringing its expertise in coaching, performance development and grassroots sport to Pinkathon’s expansive national platform.

At the heart of the partnership is a clear focus on continuity ensuring that women who take up running through mass-participation events are supported well beyond race day. A key initiative under the collaboration will see the Aspect Foundation support 100 young girls in Mumbai and Delhi through year-round, structured running programmes. These programmes will include regular coaching sessions, fitness assessments and exposure to both competitive and community-based events, creating early entry points into organised sport and laying the foundation for long-term athletic development.

Pinkathon, which has played a pioneering role in encouraging women across age groups and backgrounds to take up running, sees this partnership as an important evolution of its model. Since its inception in 2012, Pinkathon has focused on participation, inclusion and awareness around women’s health. The association with Aspect Sports now adds a development lens to that vision, introducing more structured training frameworks and progression pathways for runners who wish to continue their journey beyond a single event.

Aspect Sports will integrate expert-led coaching modules, technology-assisted training tools and curated fitness sessions into Pinkathon’s city editions, beginning with Mumbai. This approach aims to provide participants with clearer direction on training, recovery and progression, addressing a long-standing gap in women’s recreational and semi-competitive running ecosystems in India.

The partnership also reflects a broader, more holistic understanding of a runner’s needs. Extending beyond training and performance, the collaboration will place emphasis on nutrition and recovery as integral components of a sustainable running lifestyle. As part of this initiative, Aspect Hospitality has curated a special Pinkathon Menu, designed specifically for women runners. The menu was unveiled ahead of race day at Brunch & Cake, reinforcing the idea that nourishment, recovery and overall wellbeing are as critical as mileage and pace.

Speaking on the partnership, Aksha Kamboj, Executive Chairperson of Aspect Global Ventures and owner of Tiigers of Kolkata, highlighted the long-term vision behind the association. “Pinkathon has created scale and visibility for women’s running in India. Our focus is on what comes next introducing training frameworks and tools that help convert participation into long-term sporting pathways,” she said. Anchored in the theme of “HER”, the initiative seeks to encourage more women to take up running not just as an occasional activity, but as a consistent sporting discipline.

Aspect Global Ventures operates across sports, wellness and community development, with a strong emphasis on accessibility and performance. Its sports vertical, Aspect Sports, works at the intersection of grassroots sport and innovation, addressing gaps in structured coaching, mentorship and training systems. The Pinkathon partnership aligns closely with this philosophy, particularly in its focus on young girls and early-stage athletes.

Milind Soman, Founder of Pinkathon, described the collaboration as a reflection of the growing maturity of women’s running in India. “Aspect Sports brings a training and development lens that complements what Pinkathon has built over the years. By strengthening what happens beyond race day, we can help more women stay engaged with running in a way that supports confidence, performance and long-term wellbeing,” he said.

Women’s running in India has seen steady growth over the past decade, with increasing participation across cities, age groups and ability levels. Events like Pinkathon have played a crucial role in normalising running for women and creating safe, inclusive spaces. The Aspect Sports–Pinkathon partnership now seeks to build on that momentum by introducing structure, continuity and aspiration into the ecosystem.

Founded in Mumbai in 2012, Pinkathon has grown into a nationwide movement, engaging over half a million women across multiple cities. With categories ranging from 3 km to ultra-distance events, it has consistently championed inclusivity, welcoming cancer survivors, visually impaired women, baby-wearing mothers and participants running in traditional attire.

With the Mumbai edition of Pinkathon scheduled for December 21, 2025 at the MMRDA Grounds, BKC, the partnership arrives at a timely moment. As women’s running continues to expand, this collaboration represents a step towards building a more sustainable, development-oriented ecosystem one that supports women not just to start running, but to stay, grow and thrive within the sport.
