Much of this can be attributed to the fact that, despite being a premier season-ending event, the tournament failed to attract most of the top global boxing stars, resulting in a significantly depleted field. Coupled with the usual and predictable home-favouring conditions, it effectively turned into a medal feast for the hosts. Consequently, keeping aside some really noteworthy performances from the home boxers, there is not much to read into the overall results.
