Arundhati Choudhary produced a career-defining performance on her international return, stopping Germany’s Leonie Müller one of the most consistent performers across all three stages of the 2025 World Boxing Cup Finals via RSC to headline a flawless Day 3 for India at the World Boxing Cup Finals in Greater Noida.
Her emphatic victory set the tone for a dominant session in which Minakshi, Ankush Phangal, Parveen, and Nupur also secured their places in the finals.
Making her first international appearance in nearly 18 months, Arundhati showed no signs of hesitation or competitive rust. The former Youth World Champion and Strandja medalist stepped into the ring with purpose, controlling the tempo from the opening bell. She outworked and outpunched Müller in the first round before escalating the pressure in the second, where she dropped the German boxer with a perfectly timed combination.
The third round brought more of the same: precision, aggression, and a second knockdown that forced the referee to halt the contest and award Arundhati a decisive RSC victory.
Reflecting on her comeback, Arundhati said: “I have made my international comeback after a year-and-a-half, and I am delighted to be back with an RSC win. I was nervous to begin with because my last international experience was a loss in the Paris 2024 qualifiers before I underwent wrist surgery. But I told myself, ‘This is what I have been waiting for,’ and now I am back!’”
Her authoritative performance not only reaffirmed her standing among India’s top emerging boxers but also added fresh intensity to the 66kg category as she moves into the final.

World Champion Minakshi (48kg) extended her unstoppable run with a commanding 5:0 win over Korea’s Bak Cho-rong. Displaying outstanding ring control, Minakshi blended quick footwork with sharp, accurate striking to outclass her opponent in every round. Her defensive discipline and clean counter-punching ensured an unambiguous verdict.

In the 80kg division, Ankush Phangal delivered another statement of intent with a sweeping 5:0 victory against Australia’s Marlon Sevehon. Ankush dictated pace, closed distance effectively, and repeatedly forced his opponent onto the back foot, leaving no room for the judges to see it any other way.
Nupur (80+kg) kept India’s momentum rolling with a thoroughly assured win over Ukraine’s Mariia Lovchynska. From the opening exchanges, Nupur established control through superior timing and assertive body work, dominating the contest from start to finish.

The most hard-fought bout of the session came in the 60kg category, where Parveen edged past Poland’s World Boxing Cup silver medalist Aneta Elżbieta Rygielska in a tense 3:2 split. Parveen’s discipline in the center of the ring, coupled with smart counterpunching during key moments, turned a challenging matchup into a signature win that pushed her into the final.
With five Indians already through, attention now shifts to Session 5, where more finalists could join the growing list. Preeti (54kg) faces her toughest test yet against Olympic medalist and triple World Champion Huang Hsiao-Wen, while Saweety Boora (75kg) takes on Australia’s Emma-Sue Greetree. Narender and Naveen also remain in the hunt for final berths, with Abhinash Jamwal opening his campaign against Ukraine’s Elvin Aliiev.
