2:15am | HISTORY MADE. India has entered the Semifinal of the Mixed Team Badminton event as we have defeated Malaysia 3-2 in the most dramatic fashion.

2:00am | Hold On!! We have won the next game, and its on to the decider, hold your breathe!! we won the second game 15-13.

1:45am | We have lost the first game 9-15 and are we staring at an exit.

1:30am | India lose the Men Doubles match rather tamely, score 8-15, 6-15, and its 2-2 now. Looks like difficult now as the Indian Women Doubles pair is not a regular pair

1:15am | The men doubles pair next and we have experienced Sathish and Saneeth playing in it, you would hope to close in this, but remember Malaysian are way too strong in the Men Doubles.

12:40am | Devika Wins and Its India 2-1 Malaysia, Fabulous win by Devika against Siti 15-5, 8-15, 15-12. India lost to USA in Basketball 52-111

12:25am | Devika lost the second game against Siti 8-15 and is now all down to the last game to see who will carry the advantage, In the basketball India has had a better Q4 or its USA who has relaxed the tempo. We are going to be losing this match was there for the writing in the first quarter

12:15am | India has been taken to each corner in the basketball match as the score at the end of Q3 stands as 37-93, as in Badminton Devika has won the first game 15-8 a good confident start.

12:10am | Saneeth lost the second match and Malaysia have clawed back in the tie. Saneeth lost to Jing 15-9, 13-15, 11-15. Next up is Devika and she has to win otherwise it will be very challenging for India to win the last two.

12:00am | India continues to struggle against USA, the score at halftime stands at 26-64 and its going to be miraculous for India to make a comeback from here

11:55pm | Its 1-1 now in Badminton second match of the tie as Saneeth lost the second game to Jing 13-15, can he win the final one

11:45pm | In Basketball India had a troubled first quarter with the score at 12-32 as in Badminton Saneeth has won the first game 15-9

11:35 pm | Indian Mixed Team won the match and its India 1-0 Malaysia, next up is Saneeth can he give India a comfortable 2-0 lead.

11:30pm | Can the Mixed team give India the lead, its getting tight in the third and final game, India lost the second game. In Basketball, Team India is all set to take the court for the first group match against USA, what a moment its going to be for the young Indians to go against the mighty USA who have such a great collegiate structure.

11:15pm | The team of Sathish & Vaishnavi had won the first game comfortably 15-9 but seems to be struggling in the second one now.

11:00pm | Welcome back for the late night report where we have Basketball and Badminton to look forward to, first up is Badminton which starts now and if Indian wins the tie, it can be a Historic Medal in Badminton.

8:30pm | Tonight, Team India’s men’s basketball team will open their World University Games campaign against a formidable Team USA, represented by the NCAA powerhouse Baylor University. The match is scheduled to tip off at 11:30 PM IST.

8:00pm | Kabir Hans & Maan Kesarwani have won the first set Tennis Men’s Doubles Round of 16 against the local pair from Germany 6-4, can they win the next one to make it to the Quarterfinals while on the other side in Women’s Doubles Round of 32 Saumya & Rutuparna are comfortably cruising as they won first set 6-2 against Uzbekistan pair

7:15pm | Harkunwar has lost his group match against Turkish paddler 1-3 in the Men Singles Group Stage.

7:00pm | In the third Women Singles TT Match Pritha made a quick amend in between scoring a tight 3-2 victory over her American opponent, she was down 0-2 when she lost 7-11, 2-11 to win the next three 11-8, 11-5, 11-9 while Sayali lost to Chinese Shang Zhao 1-3.

6:45pm | Young Indian Fencers Showcase Potential at World University Games 2025

India’s rising fencing talents delivered promising performances at the World University Games, gaining valuable experience against a strong international field.

Leading the charge was 17-year-old Abhinash Meitei Kangabam, who secured an impressive 15th-place finish in the Men’s Foil event. The Khelo India Youth Games champion’s performance was particularly noteworthy as he overcame several fencers with greater international experience, demonstrating his skill and composure on a major stage.

In the Women’s Sabre event, Shreya Gupta achieved a commendable 21st place, while Aakhri earned a solid 32nd position. These results represent a significant step forward, highlighting the potential of India’s next generation of fencers as they continue to develop on the global circuit.

6:45pm | The Fencing campaign ends for the day for India, Great work done by Abhinash in the Men Foil as he made it via the knockouts when none of the other three could make it and then won two matches to make it to the PreQF and ended up losing to Polish Fencer 8-15. Shreya who got in directly into Rd32 via the good performance in the groups lost to Gomez from Spain 8-15. Aakhri did slightly better than the other two but she also lost 10-15 to Lola in the Women Sabre event. Just a reminder there is no Swimming action tonight for India

6:30pm | Indian team has lost to Italy 21-7 in the Basketball 3×3 Play ins of the Quarterfinals and will not make the knockouts, they were just never in it. A huge match between India and USA in Basketball is coming in at 11:30pm IST

5:50pm | Both the Indian Singles player in the action Suhana & Taneesha scored comfortable victories in their group matches 3-0. While Suhana defeated Nigar from Azerbaijan Taneesha got better of Mariam from Lebanon.

5:30pm | India has lost to Argentina 57-86 and India will next play Finland in the last match tomorrow and no hopes to make the knockouts in Women Basketball

5:05pm | A horrible fourth Quarter Basketball Women’s Preliminary Round Group Aas India only scored 4 and gave 22 so far. the match has slipped from our hands. In Fencing Jagmeet has lost 5-15 to Summer from Hong Kong. So we now have only Shreya and Aakhri in contention in Rd32 in Women Sabre. Abhinash will be back at 6pm for his match

4:50pm | At the end of Q3 Indian team trails Argentina 51-57, can they make a comeback in the last quarter. Its been a good team play with Riya, Manvi, Priyanka & Yashika all scoring in double digits till now. In Fencing Rishika has lost to Lena from Germany. 5-15 while Aakhri has won a very close 15-14 match against yet another German Marisa. This makes two Indians in the Rd32 Can Jagmeet Join them. She is live now

4:45pm | And Abhinash has defeated Adam 15-9 and he moves into Rd16, he meets Novak from Poland next in the Pre QF.

4:40pm | At the end of period one Abhinash has a slender lead against Israeli fencer Adam 8-6, can he make it count and get 7 points and move to Round of 16. In the Table Tennis action Suhana & Harkunwar got a walkover from the Macau pair in Table Tennis Mixed Doubles Round of 64. While in the other Mixed Doubles match Pritha & Ayaz lost to Thai pair in straight games.

4:35pm | As Abhinash is live now, there is some good news in the Women Sabre as fourIndians have qualified for the knockouts. this is by far the best we have seen in Fencing at the World University Games 2025 from India. Shreya has directly made it to Rd32

Sabre, in case you are wondering is the same discipline that Bhavani Devi participates in. Chadalavada Anandha Sundhararaman Bhavani Devi, also known as C.A. Bhavani Devi, is a trailblazing Indian sabre fencer. She is widely recognized as the first Indian fencer to qualify for and compete in the Olympic Games, specifically at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

4:30pm | In Taekwondo Anika has been defeated by her South Korean opponent 0-2, in Basketball India seems to be giving good fight to Argentina till now and is only trailing by 7 points

4:20pm | In Taekwondo Anika is in action now in the quarterfinal match against Kim and she is leading currently at 1-0

4:15pm | A quick Fencing update as Women Sabre, Aakhri has won two and lost three of her group matches, while Rishika has won 2 and lost 4 of her matches, Shreya has won three and lost two of her matches so far and Jagmeet and won 2 and lost 4 of her matches. in 15 minutes Abhinash is going to be playing his Rd32 match

4:00pm | Indian Women Basketball team is trailing 22-29 against the Argentina team in the group phase. So far Manvi has been in a good form scoring 10 points.

3:45pm | Anika Advances to the Quarterfinals! Anika secured a superb 2–0 victory over local favorite Helin to move into the quarterfinals at the #FISU2025 World University Games. She will next face Kim from 🇰🇷 in the QF at 4:42 PM IST All the best, Anika! 🇮🇳💪

3:30pm | In Table Tennis India has lost the Quarterfinals against the Chinese Taipei side 0-3 as all the three Indian paddlers Suhana, Sayali & Pritha lost their matches. India is playing Argentina in the Basketball Women’s Preliminary Round Group A and currently trailing 6-15

3:15pm | In Fencing the lone Indian fencer Abhinash Meitei to make it to the knockouts has won his Men’s Foil Individual Table of 64 against Qatar Abdalla and has moved in to the Rd32 and will be up against Israeli Eliaz.

3:00pm | A 15-9, 15-9 takes India to the Mixed Team Badminton Quarterfinal and as expected we will face Malaysia in tonight at 11pm. Vaishnavi Adkar has won her match in the Rd32 6-2, 6-4 and she now faces the winner of the Kenya & Australia match.

2:40pm | In Table Tennis Sayali gave a good fight but eventually lost she lost 11-4, 3-11, 11-9, 6–1, 5-11 against Chien. Its India 0 – 2 Chinese Taipei

2:30pm | Devika Lost her match in straight games, 11-15, 20-21 and India now leads 2-1 with the next match in Men Doubles where Saneeth and Sathish will look to close the tie for India in the Badminton Mixed Team

2:25pm | In Badminton Devika Sihag lost the first game while the second one is going at 19-19, do note that India leads 2-0

2:20pm | India finish last 4:12.70 in the 4×100 Medley race, and that ends a disappointing morning from the pools for India. In Tennis Vaishnavi has won the first set 6-2 and is now just one set away from the next round

2:15pm | Last event in the morning session of Swimming for India is the 4×100 Medley race and India is in the Heat 2

2:00pm | India is up against Chinese Taipei in the Table Tennis Quarterfinal and Pritha has lost the first match 9-11, 5-11, 13-11, 4-11, next up is Sayali, interestingly Indian camp has decided to not field Taneesha Kotecha. In Tennis Vaishanavi is leading Venla 4-1 in Women’s Singles Round of 32

1:50pm | In Taekwondo Anika has defeated Ingrid 2-0 in the Women -46kg Round of 32 now she faces an uphill task against Kodaman from Germany at 3:30pm in Rd16 while Armaan lost Izerit 0-2. Anika Enters Round of 16

1:40pm | In the 200m Breaststroke Men Manikanta was 35th with a timing of 2:21.80 and Aditya was 39th with a timing of 2:36.10 in a field with 43 swimmers. In Badminton Saneeth also took three games to give India a 2-0 lead. He defeated Ryan 15-8, 10-15, 15-7.

1:05pm | Pratyasa in the 100m Backstroke had a timing of 1:06.35 and she was 28 of the 39 swimmers. a quick summary of Fencing, Abhinash lost two & won one match while Ajay singh & Harshil lost all three of the matches they have played so far.

1:00pm | In Badminton mixed team event India has defeated USA in the first match after losing the first game, 13-15 the pair of Sathish & Vaishanvi won the next two games 15-3, 15-12 to give India 1-0 lead.

12:50pm | In the 200m Butterfly Men Swimming, Shoan finished 20th while Shubhrant was 34 in 39 swimmers who competed.

12:45pm | In Taekwondo the first Indian match is at 1:54 Armaan vs Aziret from Uzbekistan in Rd32 Men 54 while Anika goes at the same time against Ingdrid from Romania in Rd32 Women 46 then Himanshu plays Theo in Rd32 at 3:10pm in Rd32 Men68

12:40pm | In the 200m Butterfly, Shubhrant clocks a 2:11.45 to be place second in the slowest heat1 while Shoan Ganguly was third with 2:04.18 with five heats in it, its almost sure that they wont be making the semifinals.

12:30pm | Right then, all set for the third day action. We have Fencing, Swimming & Badminton starting now.

11:30am | Two days have seen many ups & down for India, with the bright side being two ( Actually four ) National Records been bettered in Swimming
