IndianOil UTT Season 6: Krittwika Stuns Fan Siqi as Dempo Goa Challengers Rout Chennai Lions to Go Top

Dempo Goa Challengers climbed to the top of the IndianOil Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) Season 6 table with a commanding 12-3 victory over Stanley’s Chennai Lions in their final league tie—matching the league’s widest winning margin this season. The night’s highlight came from Krittwika Sinha Roy, who sealed the result with a 2-1 win over China’s Fan Siqi, the highest-priced player at the auction.

The win took Goa to 44 points, enough to leapfrog their playoff rivals, while winless Chennai finished their campaign three points short of qualification. All matches this season are being played at Ahmedabad’s EKA Arena, with live broadcasts on Star Sports Khel and Star Sports 2 Tamil, and streaming on JioCinema.

Under the aegis of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) and promoted by Niraj Bajaj and Vita Dani, IndianOil UTT continues to grow as one of India’s premier franchise-based sports leagues. Across 16 days and 23 ties, fans can catch top-tier table tennis action live, with tickets available exclusively on BookMyShow.

Captain Harmeet Desai led from the front, brushing aside Kazakhstan’s Kirill Gerassimenko in straight games, before teaming up with Zeng Jian to take the mixed doubles 2-1. Zeng remained flawless in singles, overpowering Poymantee Baisya 3-0 to take her tally to 14 game wins out of 15 this season.

Brazil’s Vitor Ishiy, ranked World No. 47, marked his IndianOil UTT debut with a comeback 2-1 win over Payas Jain. Filling in for the injured Tiago Apolonia, the two-time Olympian and Pan-American champion became the first Brazilian to play in the league—and made his presence felt with back-to-back 11-9 game wins.

The evening wrapped up with the much-anticipated clash between Krittwika and Fan. After dropping the first game, the Indian held her nerve in two high-pressure finishes to hand the Chinese star her second loss of the season. Harmeet and Zeng were named Indian and Foreign Players of the Tie, respectively, while Payas Jain earned the Shot of the Tie for his stunning cross-court forehand.
