MP and Services Dominate Rowing Competition at National Games 2025

The rowing competition at the 38th National Games concluded on a high note today, wrapping up a thrilling three-day event held from February 3 to 5 at the picturesque Water Sports Complex in Koti Colony, Tehri, Uttarakhand.

With over 20 teams participating from across the nation, the competition was marked by exceptional performances, particularly from the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Services, who dominated the medal tally with several gold medal victories.

The event saw intense rivalry across various categories, showcasing the prowess and determination of the country’s top rowers.

Madhya Pradesh Shines in Group A Final
Madhya Pradesh showcased a stellar performance in the Group A final, winning the most gold medals.

In the lightweight women’s double sculls event, the duo of Poonam and Rukmani from Madhya Pradesh clinched the gold medal with a timing of 07:51.96.

Similarly, in the women’s single sculls, Khushpreet Kaur secured gold with a timing of 08:40.35.
In the men’s coxless pair sculls event, Madhya Pradesh’s Manmohan and Bheem Singh bagged the gold medal with a time of 07:11.40.

In the women’s coxless four sculls event, the Kerala team, comprising Rose Maria Joshi, Varsha, Ashwati, and Meenakshi, finished the race in 07:33.18 minutes to win the gold medal.

Meanwhile, Haryana’s team secured the top position in the women’s double sculls event, with Suman Devi and Kiran clinching gold with a timing of 07:52.9 minutes.

Services Team Dominates Group B Final

The Services team delivered an outstanding performance in the Group B final. In the lightweight men’s double sculls event, Ujjwal Kumar and Ajay Tyagi from Services secured the gold medal with a time of 06:43.80.

In the men’s single sculls event, Services’ Balraj Panwar emerged victorious with a gold-winning timing of 07:26.68 minutes.

In the men’s coxless four sculls event, the Services team (Sunny Kumar, Iqbal Singh, Babulal Yadav, and Yogesh Kumar) won the gold medal with a time of 06:25.08 minutes.

In the women’s quadruple sculls event, the Madhya Pradesh team, comprising Santosh Yadav, Poonam, Khushpreet Kaur, and Rukmani, secured the gold medal with a timing of 07:08.40 minutes.

More than 20 teams from across the country participated in this three-day competition.

The breathtaking venue and intense competition contributed to making this event a grand success.
