The 25-year-old athlete’s performance was nothing short of extraordinary.

In the heats, she surpassed her previous national record of 8.12 seconds by clocking 8.07 seconds.

She then outdid herself in the final, finishing the race in 8.04 seconds, thereby setting a new national benchmark.

Yarraji’s previous record of 8.12 seconds was set during her gold-medal run at the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran, Iran, in 2024.

In addition to her indoor achievements, she holds the national outdoor 100m hurdles record with a time of 12.78 seconds.

Her impressive resume also includes a silver medal at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, where she completed the 100m hurdles in 12.91 seconds.

Despite her record-breaking performance in Nantes, Yarraji’s time remains just shy of the 7.94-second qualifying mark for the World Indoor Championships scheduled in Nanjing, China, in March.
