Some highlights include winning the 2024 Australian Open and securing ATP Masters 1000 titles at Indian Wells in 2023 and the Miami Open in 2024. They also reached the semifinals of the French Open in 2024.

Both players held the No. 1 spot in the ATP Doubles Rankings at different points during their partnership.

Bopanna also achieved quite a few age records like becoming the oldest first-time World No.1 in doubles, Masters 1000 winner, etc.

Their chemistry on the court and ability to perform under pressure made them one of the most formidable teams on the doubles circuit.

Despite falling short in this year’s ATP Finals group stage, their accomplishments over two years solidify their legacy as one of the top doubles pairings of recent times.

Even though their grand slam career started with consecutive first-round exits at both the Australian Open and the French Open in 2023, the duo was the most consistent team across the next four slams reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon 2023 and French Open 2024, reaching the finals of US Open 2023 while winning the Australian Open in 2024.

They also reached the semifinals of the 2023 ATP Finals. Their partnership has been on a downward trend since winning the French Open this year,
with the duo not making the semifinals in any event they played together.
They even played a few tournaments in the middle with different partners.

Playing Style

Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden complemented each other with a balanced and dynamic playing style that made them one of the most formidable pairs on the doubles circuit.

Both players brought exceptional serving to the court, often dominating service games. Bopanna’s powerful and precise serves, combined with Ebden’s agility at the net, created a potent combination that put their opponents under pressure.

Their strategy relied on aggressive shot-making, with Bopanna often dictating play from the baseline with deep, heavy groundstrokes, while Ebden showcased quick reflexes and strategic volley
placements at the net.

They adapted seamlessly to different surfaces, winning titles on hard courts (Australian Open, Indian Wells, and Miami) and achieving deep runs on clay (French Open semifinals, Madrid Masters finals) and grass (Wimbledon semifinals).
Their ability to adjust strategies based on court conditions was a key strength.

Their style combined power, precision, and adaptability, enabling them to thrive against diverse opponents and achieve significant
milestones during their two-year partnership.
