India Remains Undefeated, Face Japan for a place in Final at Asian Champions Trophy 2024

The Indian women’s hockey team secured a commanding spot in the semifinals of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 with a five victories at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar.These wins in the tournament, highlighted their dominance.

Women in blue with a solid performance in group stages are undefeated till date, scoring a twenty six goals while conceding only two. We kept a clean sheet in four matches.

India are at the top among the best 6 in Asia as per points table. Started on 11th November the defending champions India faced Malaysia to give tournament a perfect start with a 4-0 win .

Next day Salima’s team won a close match (3-2) against 3 time champions South Korea. South Korea are the most successful team in the tournament but they have missed out making the semifinal in this edition.

After a days break, on 14th November India showed the power against lower ranked Thailand by threshing 13-0 goal margin with Deepika scoring five goals. However this wasn’t the worst defeat for Thai girls as they were already given a 15-0 defeat by highest ranked Chinese team on the very first day.

With three wins in the bag the 15th November match was a big day for Indian women hockey as they were up against the Paris Olympics silver medalist China. Our girls came all guns blazing and with a huge crowd support they registered a huge win by 3-0 .
It was also important because India missed an Olympics quota place at Paris .

In last league match it was Japan who faced the blue girls and bite the dust 0-3. India will once again face Japan in the Semifinal.

INDIAN STRIKERS : Rajgir International stadium saw a total of 71 goals. Deepika Sehrawat
leading the way with 10 goals, while Sangita Kumari (4) is also in the list at 3rd place just behind
Tan Jinzhuang (6) of China .

Navneet and Salima also deserves shoutouts for their part of game.

SEMIFINALS VS JAPAN

India and Japan both eyeing on their third trophy and will face each other on Tuesday for a spot at Finals.
Looking at the performance till date undefeated India is looking strong,

On the other hand Japan found its solo win against Malaysia. Drew with Thailand and Korea whereas lost to India and China.

Finished at the 4th place on point table will face India in a showdown in-front of Rajgir crowd.
