India Survives a Scare Against South Korea, Wins second match.

After a commanding victory over Malaysia, the Indian women team faced challenges but came back with a win

Indian team knew they had challenges up their sleeves when they took the stadium.

The star of the Malaysian match Sangita started off well as we were up in the very third minute. A crisp pass from Navneet and wonderfully placed to give India the lead.

India kept pushing through the quarter but it was 1-0 at the end of the quarter.

In the quarter two it was a beautiful run from the right for Deepika which resulted in India’s second goal.

India kept the push on through the quarter and ensured we keep the sheet clean till half time.

As the third quarter started, the Korean team looked more disciplined and that showed in their game. With constant attack it resulted in a goal via a penalty corner just four minutes in quarter three.

Then there was a penalty stroke given to the Korean team and that results in then equalising.

At the end of third quarter it stood India 2 South Korea 2

With just 15 minutes to play it was all to play for both the teams.

With just four minutes to go India was given a penalty stroke opportunity, and Deepika didn’t disappoint and gave India a decisive lead.

Earlier, Thailand and Japan played out a draw which is a massive result for the Thai team. China on expected lines scored a 5-0 victory over Malaysia to lead the points table.

India will next play Thailand on 14 November.
