Indian Women Team are the defending champion of Asian Champions Trophy

A lot was on stake when the Indian team took the position on the ground. Up against a World rank 23 team Malaysia, it wasn’t expected to be a tough outing for the Indian team.

At half time though India was up only 1-0 and a small mistake could make that 3 pointer into one.

India started off well with a goal in the eighth minute by Sangita after a deflected effort from Deepika, Sangita converted the chance.

Preeti did hit the bar just before the end of quarter one but no goal then.

There were ten penalty corners won by India in the first half.

The second quarter went goalless and India had to wait till third quarter to find the net.

It was yet again Deepika who provided a brilliant variation to Preeti who scored via a penalty corners won by just 3 minutes before the end of quarter.

And just within two minutes Udita converted a powerful penalty corner to make the score 3-0 at the end of Quarter three.

With a clean 4-0 victory India will be joyful for the rest of the matches.

China who is the highest ranked in the tournament were up against the lowest ranked Thailand and it showed in the result. A thumping 15-0 win for China

India will be up against South Korea today in the evening
