The prestigious BMW Munich Opens Men’s doubles title 2024 on Sunday.

The 2024 BMW Open was a men’s tennis tournament held on outdoor clay courts. This event marked the 108th edition of the tournament and was included in the ATP Tour 250 series as part of the 2024 ATP Tour. The tournament occurred at the MTTC Iphitos complex in Munich, Germany.

The duo’s victory marked a significant milestone, as Yuki Bhambri became the first Indian tennis player to secure a victory at the prestigious Bavarian International Tennis Championships.
It was his 2nd ATP title. First title came last year when he won Mallorca Open.

How the match went

Set 1: What a phenomenal play showcased by both pairs. It was a neck-and-neck tight match. Both pairs played extremely well whether it’s about break points or serve points. Both pairs fought well till the end but in the tiebreak point, the Indo-French pair clinched the first set with a score of 7(8) – 6(6) and took the advantage of a set.
Set 2: A great chance to win straight for Yuki & Albano and for Andreas and Lennard, a chance to still be in the race to win the title. In this set, both pairs also played extremely well; every game point was close. Both pairs didn’t want to lose points on unforced errors. But in the tiebreak, the Indo-French pair made history by winning with a score of 7(7) – 6(5) and won the Men’s Doubles title at the Munich Opens 2024.

Initially considered underdogs, this Indo-French pair exceeded expectations by showcasing exceptional tennis skills and clinching the title.  The Indo-French pair defeated the German wildcard pair Andreas Mies and Jan-Lennard Struff in straight games 7(8)-6(6),   7(7) -6(5) in one hour and 51 minutes.

It was the first title for this Indo-French duo.

After this men’s doubles win, Bhambri achieved his highest career best rank of 56. Such a big achievement for him and for Indian tennis.

We extend our best wishes to this pair for their future endeavors in upcoming tournaments.
