Yuki Bhambri and Albano Olivetti have won the quarterfinals of the BMW Open 2024 on Thursday, 18 April at Munich, Germany.
The duo displayed a remarkable performance against their American opponents, Evan King and Robert Galloway, securing a straight-set victory.
Throughout the match, Yuki and Albano showcased their skills with eight aces against the American duo.
Set 1 : In the first set, the pair demonstrated confidence and skill, particularly excelling in their serves, ultimately claiming the set with a score of 6-3.
Set 2 : In the second set Yuki and Albano dominating their opponents on serves, winning an impressive 85 percent of second serve points. They clinched the set by 6-3 once again, and won the quarterfinals and advanced to the semifinal showdown against the Austrian pair of Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler.
After the Match Yuki said : Winning against an in-form team boosts your confidence”.
This Indo- French pair had a remarkable beginning to the campaign by defeating the current French Open finalists Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen in the initial round of 16 of the tournament.
Sander & Joran have won Monte Carlos opens last week.
• Yuki’s present performance holds great significance as he aspires to qualify for the Paris Olympics and wants to pair up with Rohan Bopanna representing India.
• In January this year Bhambri discontinued his singles participation ( who won the Australian opens singles junior’s in 2009) to focus on doubles, a choice that has proven to be advantageous for him thus far.
