Indo-Aussie pairing of Rohan Bopanna and Matt Ebden broke no sweat in clearing the PreQ hurdle.
Up against a seasoned pairing of Venus and Murray the pairing of Bopanna and Ebden scored a convincing victory by winning 6-3,6-4.
Rohan and Matt had reached the semifinals of Wimbledon while they played last before losing out to top seed and eventual winners.
The pair has been in some form winning ATP1000 Indian Wells and ATP250 in Doha. They reached finals at ATP1000 in Madrid and ATP500 Rotterdam.
While Rohan is currently ranked 11th in the ATP Doubles ranking Ebden is ATP9 both are expected to jump couple of places.
They are seeded fourth in the tournament and have justified their billing in the tournament
They have a tough outing next wherein the pair will be up against the finalists of Wimbledon Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos. The pair had reached the Semifinals of French open as well.
This should be an interesting match and will decide which team will make the semifinals.
The indo-aussie pairing looked in good touch and that should be a good contest, it’s scheduled for today at 9:30pm IST.
