In the world of junior squash, few names shine as brightly as Anahat Singh.

The Indian prodigy has once again proven her mettle by clinching her third British Junior Open title in the Under-17 category in 2025.

This victory adds another feather to her cap, following her earlier triumphs in 2019 and 2023 across different age groups.

2019 – U11 Champion:

Anahat Singh journey to stardom began in 2019 when she won the Girls U11 title at the British Junior Open.

In a stunning display of skill and determination at the Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham, the young Anahat Singh, despite her petite frame, managed to outplay the top seed, Whitney Wilson from Malaysia 🇲🇾

The match was a nail-biter, with Anahat securing victory in four games, 13-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-9, in just 27 minutes.

This win was an announcement of her arrival on the international squash stage. At the tender age of 11, she demonstrated a maturity and skill level far beyond her years, setting the tone for her promising career.

Anahat Singh also became the youngest Indian to win the British Junior Open.

2020 – U13 Runner-Up:

Anahat Singh continued her rise in 2020 by competing in the U13 category. Her championship dreams were challenged in the final against Egypt’s Amina Orfi.

Despite her previous successes, this match was one-sided, with Orfi dominating and defeating Anahat 3-0, with scores of 11-0, 11-1, and 11-4. This loss underscored the fierce competition at the British Junior Open and likely served as a valuable learning experience for Anahat, strengthening her resolve to return even stronger.

2023 – U15 Champion:

Three years later, in 2023, Anahat dominated the Girls U15 category, securing her second British Junior Open title. Her performance was a testament to her hard work and dedication, as she defeated Egypt’s Sohaila Hazem in a thrilling final.

Dropping just one game throughout the tournament, Anahat’s win was celebrated not only in India but also by the global squash community, marking her as one of the brightest young talents in the sport.

2024 – U17 Runner-Up:

In 2024, Anahat stepped into the U17 category with high expectations. She fought valiantly in the final against Egypt’s Nadien Elhammamy, but in a marathon match that tested both players’ endurance and skill, she was edged out 2-3 with scores of 7-11, 13-11, 12-10, 5-11, 11-9.

2025 – U17 Champion:

The year 2025 marked a return to glory for Anahat Singh as she won her third British Junior Open title in the U17 division.

British Jr Open

Facing Malika Elkaraksy of Egypt, the 16 year old , seeded first, Anahat found herself down 1-2 after the first three games.

However, showcasing her resilience, she rallied back to win 3-2 with scores of 4-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-5, and 11-3.

This comeback victory was not just a personal triumph but also highlighted Anahat’s potential as a future world champion.
