Tamil Nadu & Gujarat Given Top Billing in Tennis Team Events at 2022 National Games

Tamil Nadu & Karnataka are top two seeds in men team while Ankita Raina led Gujarat & Maharashtra are top two in women team.

 

Men Team

The tennis action at the national games is all set to start from tomorrow. We will have the team events tomorrow. In the men section the team of Tamil Nadu represented by Manish Sureshkumar, Abhinav Sanjeev, Oges, Siddharth & Bharath will be eyeing for Gold Medal. They will be challenged by the second seed Karnataka who have a pretty strong team with inform Rishi Reddy backed by Prajwal & Adil. Manish & Rashein complete the team.

SSCB who are seeded third have also come in with a very strong squad comprising of experienced Sriram Balaji, Ishaque Iqbal, Rishabh Agarwal, Faisal & Vinayak. Fourth seed Haryana is spearheaded by young and promising Karan Singh who in fact is playing every possible match as Haryana has entered him in Singles, Men Doubles, Mixed Doubles & Team event.

Arjun Kadhe leads a young Maharashtra team but it will be a tough ask for them to go deep in the draw. Arjun likewise Karan is playing four events.

Women Team Event

Ankita Raina is expected to hog the limelight in the tennis event at the national games, representing the host state the squad of Gujarat Women team has huge potential. Ankita who recently had a good run of three wins in South Korea must be high on confidence and she has regained her number one position in the country. In the team they have Zeel Desai, Vaidehi Chaudhari, Himadri & Priyanshi.

The second seeds are from Maharashtra being led by Rutuja Bhosale, she is backed by a very promising young talent Akanksha Nitture who recently came back after a month in Tunisia. Vaishavi Adkar who recently had a good success at the Asian Juniors being held at Pune along with Ruma & Ishwari complete the team. It will be a treat to watch them live going for the Gold Medal.

Sharmada led Karnataka are seeded third but will find it difficult against the quality Gujarat carries in the semis should they progress as per seeds. Tamil Nadu are seeded fourth in the draw.
