Day 4 of the Aquatics competition at the 38th National Games showcased fierce competition and remarkable performances from athletes specially Sajan Prakash and across India, with standout moments in swimming and 3MT SB events.
The day witnessed exceptional races in the butterfly, breaststroke, and relay events, as well as the 3MT SB Women’s event.
Event 19: Men’s 200m Butterfly Open
Sajan Prakash of Kerala took the gold medal in the Men’s 200m Butterfly Open, completing the race in an impressive 2:01.40.
His flawless performance secured him the top spot, followed closely by Bikram Changmai of Assam, who finished second with a time of 2:04.23.
Harsh Saroha from Haryana earned the bronze with a timing of 2:04.48.
Event 20: Women’s 200m Butterfly Open
In the Women’s 200m Butterfly Open, Dhirti Ahirwal of Maharashtra emerged victorious with a strong finish of 2:23.80, clinching the gold.
Suhasini Ghosh of Karnataka secured the silver with a time of 2:24.53, while Astha Choudhury from Assam took home the bronze, clocking 2:25.30.
Event 21: Men’s 50m Breaststroke Open
Vidith S Shankar of Karnataka claimed the gold in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke Open with a time of 29.12. M.S. Yadesh Babu from Tamil Nadu earned the silver at 29.20, and S. Danush, also from Tamil Nadu, took the bronze with a time of 29.21.
Event 22: Women’s 50m Breaststroke Open
Harshitha Jayaram of Kerala was the standout performer in the Women’s 50m Breaststroke Open, finishing with a gold-winning time of 34.14.
Chahat Arora from Punjab followed with silver at 34.37, while Avni Chhabra, also from Punjab, secured the bronze with a time of 34.86.
Event 23: Men’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay
The Men’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay saw a dominant display by Karnataka, with Dhakshan S, Shoan Ganguly, Aneesh S Gowda, and Srihari Nataraj combining to win the gold in 7:45.82.
Gujarat (Aryan Nehra, Anshul Kothari, Vraj Patel, Devansh Parmar) claimed silver with a time of 7:49.71, and Maharashtra (Shubham Dadaso Dhaygude, Om Pravin Satam, Rishi Rajesh Bhagat, Rishabh Das) finished with bronze at 7:55.62.
Event 24: Women’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay
Karnataka dominated the Women’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay, with Shirin, Shalini R Dixit, Meenakshi Menon, and Dhinidhi Desinghu finishing in 8:54.87 to win the gold.
Maharashtra (Anvi Deshwal, Saanvi Deshwal, Dhirti Ahirwal, Aditi Satish Hegde) secured the silver in 9:09.37, and Tamil Nadu (Deeksha Sivakumar, Adwika G Nair, Dhayanitha, Shreenithi Natesan) took the bronze with a time of 9:14.27.
3MT SB Women’s Event Results
The 3MT SB Women’s event brought exciting moments with Hrutika Shriram from Maharashtra winning the gold with 164.75 points.
Palak Sharma from Madhya Pradesh earned silver with 159.35 points, while Esha Waghmode, also from Maharashtra, secured the bronze with 153.05 points.
