Raja & Sharan Enter Finals at Indianapolis Challenger

The pair defeated second & third seed in consecutive matches to make it to final

Purav Raja & Divij Sharan who are reuniting as a team after a good five years have shown phenomenal results in the last two tournaments that they have played. They both in the recent past have taken a lot of hit on the rankings and are currently languishing outside top 150.

Indians have had phenomenal success in the doubles circuit this year while we are still struggling to find that one genuine match winner in the Singles event

It will be the second final this season while Purav Raja lost the final to French pair playing along with Ramkumar Ramanathan in Biel Divij had lost the Final in Mexico Challenger playing along side Oliveira.

Tomorrow they will aim to win the doubles title together, as a pair they have won 2 ATP250 titles and 7 ATP Challenger titles.

After defeating the in-form pair of Ramanathan & Smith in straight set in quarterfinals they showed that they are in good form and are poised for success. They got better of the second seed 6-4,6-4 and went on to face the third seed in the Semifinals.

Playing against Galloway & Lawson who have been in decent form this season making the Finals & Semifinals in the last two Atp tournaments they have played together the Indian pair lost the first set 3-6. They lost their second serve and couldn’t break the opponents serve hence lost out 3-6.

In the second set they came back strongly to break the fourth serve of their opponents and closed the set 6-3 to take the match in super-tiebreaker. In the final moments of the match they took advantage and broke the opponents serve couple of times and went on to convert the fourth match point opportunity.

Final Match

The Indian pair will be up against the Top seed Reese & Hach who both are in the top80 in the world currently and have won one ATP title each with different partners. Its expected to be a tough match for the Indians as their opponents the Mexican & American pair has just lost one set through the tournament.

A title for the Indian pair will take Purav to ATP158 while for Divij who has a career high of 36 not long back will move up to ATP176
