National Games 2025: David Beckham wins Gold for Andaman and Nicobar as they bag three medals in Road Cycling; SSCB clinch two

David Beckham from Andaman and Nicobar had a great outing on Day 1 of the Road Cycling finals with three medals, including one gold, one silver, and one bronze.

Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) bagged a gold and a silver medal on Monday. The remaining seven medals were won by players from seven different states.

Karnataka’s Keerthi Rangaswamy C won the gold medal in the Women Elite Scratch 10km race. Assam’s Chayanika Gogoi clinched the silver medal, while Meenakshi from Haryana bagged the bronze in the 10km long race.

In the Men’s Elite Scratch Race 15km, SSCB’s Sahil Kumar won the gold medal. Kerala’s Adwaith Sankar SS and Krishna Nayakodi from SSCB clinched the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Maharashtra’s Shweta Balu Gunjal won the gold medal in the Women Elite Sprint with a timing of 12.745 seconds.

Meanwhile, Andaman and Nicobar’s Celestina secured second place and won the silver medal, having finished the two laps in 12.848 seconds.

Triyasha Paul from Delhi clocked a time of 12.799 seconds to bag the bronze medal.  Agashe Shushikala Durgaprasad from Maharashtra finished fourth with a timing of 12.567 seconds.

She missed out on a well-deserved medal, falling short by a few milliseconds.

Asian Games David Beckham won the gold medal in the Men Elite Sprint event. The Andaman and Nicobar player clocked a time of 10.691 seconds in two laps to register a podium finish.

His counterpart, Laitonjam Ronaldo Singh from Manipur bagged the silver medal, finishing the race in 10.724 seconds.

Esow from Andaman and Nicobar clinched the bronze medal in the race with a timing of 10.826 seconds. India’s top three male cyclists bagged the top three honours in the Men’s Elite Sprint race at the National Games 2025.
