As the 5 match Hockey Test Series begins from 6th of April, Indian Hockey Team is ready to take on the Aussies at their home.
The last time India won the Series against Australia at their den was 2014. Since then, we’re hoping for that historic series win. This Test Series against a competitive team like Australia is a serious opportunity for India to get a reality check to their preparation for the Paris Olympics and to know where they stand as of now!
The 1st match of the series will commence on 6th April at Perth. Also, don’t forget India and Australia both are placed in the group B at the Olympics. Hence, we can’t afford to take this test series lightly. The Tokyo Bronze Medalists will surely want to better the colour of the medal this time at Paris.
This year, till now Indian Team has played 8 Home matches. Out of those, they’ve managed to win 5 games. The key change they’ll now face is the home support. And I see that as an opportunity to see who has that game to perform in adverse conditions. Remember, Great players are always made in hostile conditions!
Amit Rohidas, the experienced defender of India said, “The preparation has been good. We have a busy schedule in the coming months. We’ll try to rectify our mistakes.”
Decision making a concern
Akashdeep Singh said,”We’re continuosly working on improving the decision making inside the circle. Any top team can’t afford to concede too much of penalties and hence that is a area for improvement for us.”
Captain’s Corner
“As we embark on this crucial tour to Australia,we are filled with determination and excitement. We are fully motivated to give our best and making every moment count,” said the Indian Captain Harmanpreet Singh.
What to expect?
Let’s hope that our Hockey Team creates History by beating Australia at their den after a decade, following the footsteps of the Indian Cricket Team! Although, more than the result,it is the individual performance of the players that will have many eyeballs before the squad announcement for Paris Olympics.
Where to Watch?
The 5-Match Test Series will be completely free on Jio Cinema and also on Sports 18 Network. So don’t forget to keenly watch all the matches on 6, 7, 10,12 and 13th of April!
