After an awful performance against the Australia in the recently concluded Test Series, Indian Team is now Officially out of the Top 5 Ranking Teams. As per the official rankings released by FIH, Indian Men’s Team is now ranked 6th.

Indian Team started this year as the World Ranked 3 Team. Terrible performance in the Home Leg of the FIH Pro League against Australia and Nederlands, followed by the disastrous Test Series resulted in the downfall of the rank.

Also, intresting thing is Australian Team was ranked below India before the start of Test Series. But now they’re ranked at third spot, all thanks to the whitewash against India in the Test Series.

India will hope to improve their game and again get back into the Top 5 Ranking in the European Leg of the Pro League in May 2024.

FIH introduced the Ranking System in 2003, hence, India hasn’t been ranked at the Top position ever. If India’s Golden Period had such ranking system, we would have  ruled the list for atleast a Decade or so. India’s lowest ranked is 12th position, in 2010. And, our best ever rank achieved is third spot, in 2021, after the historic Tokyo Bronze after 41 years.
