India No Match To Aussies In First Match | India 1-5 Australia

5/5 - (2 votes)

The Kookaburras on Saturday again proved that why they’re so dangerous in the sport of hockey. They thrashed the Indian Team 5-1, leaving no stone unturned.

It felt more like a practice game for them. They weren’t put under pressure by India in any point of time. And, as a result of that, the Scoreline of 5-1

India’s only goal came in the 4th Quarter, by Gurjant Singh. But that was too late, given the Scoreline of the match. The Aussies led by Captain Aran Zalewski were ruthless on the field, especially in the 3rd quarter when they scored 2 back to back goals in two minutes.

Tim Brand opened the scoring for Australia at the 3rd  min. Later,it was just a matter of time that Wickham, Rintala and Ogilvie kept extending the lead. The men in Blue were not able to find answers to any of their attacks.

The next match of this series is today,on Sunday. That makes it more competitive,as far as fitness of the players is concerned.

This was the 1st of the 5- match Test Series between the two nations. All of the matches will be played at Perth. Let’s hope that all the Indian Team players come with a fresh plan to counter the Aussies and especially our Goalkeeper,PR Sreejesh.
