FIFA has finally banned the AIFF (All India Football Federation),the fear which was going on for months inside the mind of every Indian football fan has come true.

FIFA has banned AIFF with immediate effect  due to undue influence from third parties, which constitutes a serious violation of the FIFA statutes

Effects from the ban

The FIFA U-17 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in India in October cannot be held in India as planned .

Hence there is a chance that India will lose its hosting right and therefore will not be able to participate in the tournament.

FIFA is in constant constructive contact with the ministry of youth aairs and sports in India and is hopeful that a positive outcome can be achieved .

Women’s team of Gokulam Kerala FC were going to participate in the upcoming AFC Club competition and for that they had flown to Uzbekistan, unfortunately now after the ban they are not eligible to participate in the prestigious tournament .

Indian Men’s football team will also not be eligible to play any international friendly because of the ban .

The domestic league i.e Durand Cup , ISL and I- League will not be effected by the ban ,it will continue as per schedule.

But the clubs which have not yet signed foreign players will not be able to sign any until the ban is lifted ,however they can sign free agents after the transfer window is closed.

Indian clubs are not eligible to participate in any AFC Competition until the ban is lifted.
ATKMB are also going to play the Interzonal semi final in the AFC cup but if the ban is not lifted their dreams will also be shattered.

Even though it is a temporary ban on the AIFF ,the suspension will be lifted once an order to set up a committee of administrators to assume the power of the AIFF executive committee has been repealed and the AIFF regains the full control of  daily affairs.
