Playing their first international event together Ayhika Mukherjee and Prapti Sen has been a revelation.
Getting better with each match they have made their way to the Finals at the WTT Feeder tournament in Otocec
Mukherjee, who usually plays with Tokyo Olympian Sutirtha Mukherjee, has paired up with Prapti Sen for this and this is their first international event together. They both had played together at 2018 Nationals when Ayhika and Prapti had a run till the semis.
Their Semifinal match was in cruise mode as they went past the WR78 pair in straight games
The first game went till 16-14 but then the next two were finished in a flurry.
They won 16-14,11-8,11-5 against the seed five of the tournament from Hong Kong Soo/Lee
In the Quarterfinals the new team from India had stunned everyone with a win over WR28 pair from Hungary 🇭🇺
After losing the first game 5-11 they came back strongly to defeat their opponents who were seeded second at the event by winning next three games.
Prapti and Ayhika won 5-11,11-8,11-2,11-5
Earlier in the first round they had defeated the pair from China, which can always be a tricky composition.
In a match that none had a distinct advantage the Indian pair won 11-9,4-11,11-7,8-11,11-7 against Han/Xu
